Have you managed 8 kills yet or 2000 damage? Just a thought.

I have only ever seen one person get 8 kills, and no it wasn't me, guys name is Dreadnaught. He is also not the kill stealer type of player either, he had top damage for the match also. If you ask him about it he will tell it was just luck thats how humble he is. Since he won't brag about it I'll brag about it for him. ;)

I do have a question for the OP do you use Team Speak if you don't I would suggest you start. If anything one of your new goals could be provideing a group with a needed mech. It also adds a social aspect to you life without haveing to go out and be social if you are not into that kind of thing. I know my Clan wouldn't mind haveing someone in it who could bring whatever we need to a fight. Also playing with a group should help your win/loss ratio it did for mine.

I found myself in a simmilar situation at the end of Mechwarrior 3. At that time the IP had been bought by Microshaft who were doing absolutely nothing visible with it. Everyone thought that this would be the end of Battletech on the PC.

I loved playing MW3 so I set myself various goals such as: conquering the campaign using only IS weapons. Conquering the campaign using only light mechs. You get the pictre. Try setting a goal like reaching 500 games won using only energy weapons or something.

Not necessarily an in-game achievement but a personal one.

I can't stand pugging a single match, cant believe someone did it with each mech. To bad teamwork beats out individuals so having more module slots probably won't even help a lot.

your not a winner until you have made the perfect build and have killed every member of the enemy team 10 times over in a ROW! your not a true mechwarrior until you can solo a organized enemy team

I'd say just play for the fun of playing. I made a similar, but less crazy, goal to master one of each chassis. It was a sucky grind a lot of the time - being stuck in wonky hardpoint nightmares, trying to squeak out wins with nothing but 2 large lasers in a lot of builds. Now that goal is finally behind me and the game really opened up. I can go back to piloting mechs that I enjoy, or break out something silly between 2 rounds of something effective.

It's a better game when you're not driving some single heatsink roll-face hardpoint mech without speedtweak, just trying to get through the match.

Dang. At my rate, by the time I even unlock a single assault mech, they'll have the next mech out. You sir, have accomplished something interesting.

Agreed about making joke builds. Show off that 9 flamer swayback or 4 machine gun 3D. Or a 9 Tag swayback. That would be interesting.

Actually, a goal that you could try to reach is to make your KDR at or above 1.00... or try to own every engine.

Ooh, I know! Get a big mech, put the smallest engine in it you can (xl, for the lols) and see what kind of crazy build you can make out of it. Make it a mecha turret. Props if it actually kills something.

so Op, when you say"should I play a minimal ammount" does that mean like 5,6 hours a day now?
wondering if you played mw4 multi...

Dont you enjoy the combat... for ... the combat... or are you just an unlock addict?

I dont mean to insult, its just bizzaro sounding .

I actually like the mission. That's why I love Conquest mode. It's keep on thinking games. The combat just happens when it happens. I'm fair at that and get by. I never did play any of the MW4 series (I was an OS/2 user and loathed Microsoft). 10 years away from computer games, now I came back for one because I love Battletech.

By minimal amount, I meant moving to a few (2 maybe 3) hours per day. I'll likely go to when I feel like it instead, since I lose weight when I play lights (be even better when collisions are reintroduced). Once end of Feb hits, who knows, I'll likely take weeks off after a new mech is worked up. I guess I like the freedom that comes from not having anything to grind. The pressure is completely off.

Congrats. I would feel bummed out if I was you because I would feel like it is over.

I think maybe find a clan and build up a competitive team? The social aspect of any game can be rewarding.

Yeah well, I'm forum posting, so things are improving. I'll wait for details on exactly what CW is before doing anything "Big".

I will be looking closer at the various units that are recruiting though (and their players in game behaviours).

I was going to tell you to keep on playing just for the fun of it. Then I read you think a minimal amount is 2-3 hours a day? Okay, you can fall back to that I think.

Also, what job do you have that you can afford Legendary Founder and still have so much time to play? And can I see an application?

I had a job when I bought the Legendary Founders.

Fortnight later, job went pooft!

For various reasons, I can't drive, never have been able to. Makes finding a job tougher. I look, I live in hope, but if you're over 40, the market out there is tough.

Please note I am in Australia, so employment situation here is different to the USA. Less fulltime out there, more part-time.

What I asked for initially was just a few suggestions for casual play that keep me advancing. I do get rather sick of people insinuating that I sit playing the game 24/7. So, in order:

Get a job?

Working on it. Jobseeking works slightly differently in Australia, and there are issues (such as no Driver's Licence) that get in the way. My employment agency has never had issues with me, and I am doing some training and jumping on every opportunity that pops up.

Find a new hobby?

When I actually find something I like, I tend to dive in without restraint. That's what happened with MWO after a ten year break from computer games. I do have other hobbies, and things will go back to balance in time until I find the next new thing I like.

Go Outside?

Skin Cancer risk is high. I do have a balcony I spend 5-10 minutes an hour on while playing. I live in an inner suburb of a 2 million+ population city. If a destination is under 2 miles, I walk there. I am not mushrooming in a basement.

Get laid?

Ever heard the expression that those who talk about it the most get it the least. So many people have built up getting laid to be the pinnacle of life experience. I hardly think discussing that sort of thing is appropriate on a public forum, so I never mention the topic to others.

You play the game. Shoot robots and have fun. It's mechwarrior not pokemon.

I remember back in the dark ages when people just played games for fun, without having some goal to be "grinding" toward while doing it.

The Great Grind is over.

Just got the Master Module Slot Proficiency for the Hero Awesome.

56 mechs sitting in mechbays.

Each one has been skilled up to and including the Master Module Slot proficiency.

I have all the pilot modules unlocked, and 4 each of most.

Every mech has its own engine.

So my question is:

WHAT DO I DO NOW?

I ask this, simply because I know there should be players out there who have hit this same situation (Tech support was very familiar with the 32 mech master module bug). Do I just save up for the Clans, play a minimal amount to keep skills up?

I like to keep going forward, so I'd like some in game goals.

Getting all the proficiencies and owning all the mechs before my Founder's premium time ran out was my own personal goal. It started as lights and mediums, then I added Dragons, then heavies, and finally bit the bullet and started on assaults. I got carried away.

For those who think there is little hope. Average latency was 280ms, and it was 99% PUGged.

To all those who have set in game goals, my best wishes that you achieve them.

So, ideas?

exactly...what to do now? No longer anything to use XP or GXP on...CBills useless...no meta-game...all on the same 4 maps. There should always be something to work toward or play for.
