You forgot to mention that even losing ONE ear essentially makes the big bad BoomCat not so big and bad anymore. 2 Dual Gauss Volleys, and off goes ear. 2-3 seconds sustained AC fire from a Dakkaphract? Same. Ditto PPC mugging from Stalkers and Awesomes.
Gotta say their videos of Pug Harvesting are a nice propaganda touch, but not much else. Look, we found evidence of weapons of mass destruction! (Where have I heard that before.....?) Folks, if you haven't figured it out by now, feeding the trolls is a waste of time.
How is 'only' 45 damage somehow defanging me? You want a bodycount of the mechs I slay pretty much daily with a one-eared white whale?
I guess our evidence is completely bunk, because golds said so. Is this where one of you comes to the 4chains to teach the big, bad hackers on steroids a lesson with childish insults?

It would be armed with one small laser, one flamer, one MG, and a single tube with narc. Have 18 armor every where and move 30 kph.
Yes we should its called the Urbanmech and I want one!

Or use the mystical shield arm. Because the missiles that didn't ruin his arm wouldn't have ruined the side torso, probably to the point where his center would have gotten very hurt, and valk would have jetted away onto the roof, spun 180 into the air, and killed him with another perfect shot.
It's not like anyone in here plays with the mech, or anything.
as far as i can see, the first salvo on the cent missed... would he have run at fullspeed, the possibility is high the second salvo wouldn´t have happened... the death sentence was standing still anyway (while defending himself with his awesome mlaser...), not the enemy he was facing...

Not entirely unreasonable. Though even if it can approximate the firepower of an assault for a short time, I still point out the range (or lack there of) and the fact the mech certainly doesn't have the armor of an assault.
Hard part is that direct nerfs to weapons punish the designs that don't boat. Direct nerfs to mechs ALSO punish the designs that don't boat. (For instance the GaussAPult panic has always been much ado about nothing... sometimes they land a lucky headshot (moreso before head hitboxes got addressed) but generally, they only truly did their damage if ignored. Once people started making them a priority.. not so much an issue. But nerfs meant to limit them, or dual AC/20s also neuter the people who run them with largely stock weapons.)
I do like the idea of "cluster separation you mention though, as it doesn't directly nerf the weapon (as using 1 or 2 won't be affected much, if at all) and it doesn't remove a unit's ability to specialize, either.
It would be really hard to balance something like the dual AC-20 Cat, without ruining the AC-20 for everything else. I don't have any good suggestions for that one. I kinda think the Gauss got a little too much of a beating from the nerf bat as well.
Armor aside that Catapult really does a good job of keeping up with mechs way over its tonnage in a close range brawl. My biggest issue is that the Catapult is a near equal brawler with mechs 25-35 tons heavier. It also seems to really outclass mechs of equal or lower tonnage because it has an assaults damage with better speed/maneuverability.
Hopefully there is a happy medium in maneuverability/weapons tweaks that wont make a balanced Catapult a pushover, but would keep the specialized builds from being a little too good.

You could also have the same video with load outs on many heavy and assault mechs. Would people be calling for nerfing the awesome if a video showed up showing it kicking ***? (oh wait, they have one like that for pretty baby....)
How many 6 PPC Stalker vids are on youtube now? Heck... better watch out for Noisy Crickets!!!!!!

So the cent should have used ESP to predict there was a raidboss that was gonna jet in and nuke his cat friend in the face, and then take his WHOLE MECH APART in a single blast?
Then he should have been running at full speed. You don't think valk would have stayed airborn, and dropped bombs on him like the thunderkittens then?
Does this look like it was made by someone who doesn't know how the mech works?

I've played somewhere around 3000 games in open beta alone. I've got 99 problems, but someone who claims to know me ain't one of them.
I know you have posted more then anyone else I have seen and yet never seen you in game.....

Cool, so I go from a 90 damage alpha to...let's see...carry the two...45 damage alphas. Which is still more damage output than my Founder's Hunchback is capable of at the same range and slightly under that of a SRM!Cent, i.e., plenty combat effective.
Not really making a great argument here.

That's too bad. Would you like a copy of my stat page, or are you going to dismiss that proof like the animoot that was posted earlier?

vassago... no it doesn´t... it looks like someone who knows very well what he is doing, against 2 guys who absolutely DON´T!...
but i´ll take your comments and make this solution out of it: don´t allow skilled players to shoot noobs...

The shot where I completely stripped him WAS the first salvo. The SRMs you see right as I'm cresting the hill are his SRM-4s (and his ER PPC) trying desperately to put up a defense against me. His Catapult friend (who I had hit earlier) outright missed his SRM volley after misjudging my trajectory and got a face full of missile for his trouble before I went on to brutally abuse his buddy. Against an A1, they were screwed, but against 99% of the game's builds they would've stood some semblance of a chance.

Yeah, that's the problem with people who want to use paper figures for combat effectiveness. DPS and Alpha mean all of nothing without things like range, cooldown, concentrated damage, etc. But hey kids the stats look real cool! And since they spend more times on forums than in game, I reckon talking a good fight is all that matters anyhow.
45 damage alpha spread over 3 torsos and an arm (and that is assuming ALL the missiles hit.. oh and you gotta be 150 meters or less) vs 30 damage alpha all to one spot (from 1000 meters)? Hmmmm which would I rather have...
