Created in the early 28th century, the Lyran Free Traders Association represents over 200 independent interstellar traders within the Commonwealth. Their mission is to provide information to unaffiliated merchants to help them compete against larger corporations. They provide information on what products are in desire on worlds within the Commonwealth, emergency funds and medical care for its members. As many LFTA members regularly travel into the Periphery and other Successor States, the creation of the Federated Commonwealth was a major boon for the Association.

Damn Pirates. Send in a whole battalion of Mechs. That will fix them.

Shouldn't this be 'Oberon Confederation', not 'Oberation Confederation'?

More misinformation from the phone company with religious leanings. I'd like to volunteer my Devil Dogs to escort the investigation.

Sneaking through the system makes me wonder if the cloaking device called ECM can be used to cloak jumpships and dropships too. At least a dropship, as I can put a Raven in each corner to make a bubble of empty space. I think I will try it out. I will call the dropship a 'warbird' and fill it with the ugliest, shaggiest warriors I can find. Especially those with bad teeth...

The Oberon Confederation was a Periphery state, located on the coreward rim of the Lyran Commonwealth near the Draconis Combine border. Originally a short-lived successor of the Rim Worlds Republic the Confederation appears again dunring the late Third Succession War as an outright Bandit Kingdom, which became increasingly respectable over the years, and by 3025 was grudgingly accepted as a minor Periphery power. The Confederation's technological level was above average (by periphery standards at least), and the population included many skilled scientists and technicians.

Besides the fairly well industrialized capital world of Oberon VI, which held a class B ComStar station with a functional Hyperpulse Generator, the Oberon Confederation included the worlds of Blackstone, Crellacor, Drask's Den, Ferris, Gustrell, Paulus Prime, Placida, Sigurd and The Rock, plus a varying collection of others most of the time.

Oh, yeah. This one's a real mystery. Wonder how a trading ship could possibly disappear in Hendrik Grimm's backyard. The Oberon Confederation may be "officially" recognized as a proper state, but that doesn't make Grimm any less of a pirate who'd slit your throat and sell your crew into slavery if he thought he could get away with it. Grimm may be slightly more respectable than the likes of Redjack Ryan, who incidentally first came to the attention of the Inner Sphere as a lieutenant commanding one of Grimm's mech units and committing multiple atrocities, but once a pirate always a pirate.

Oh, and just to remind people of what kind of things the Confederation has given humanity, Maria Morgraine, the pirate leader of Morgraine's Valkyriate, is an other ex-Oberonian. So, send traders to the Oberon area of the Periphery and expect to have your cargo stolen and sold off on the black market, your ship "confiscated" by the "government" and your crew sold into slavery. Happy trading, merchants.

I would love to have some battles with said pirates sometime, maybe a day where PGI staff role play as pirates for some periphery action (think NGNG events) or actual AI battles.

Battle against defunct/salvaged mechs, including but not limited to the Mackie and Urbanmechs. (Yeah, I went there)

It is not usual for a trade ship to missing from the Oberon Confederation in recent years. Is it a signal they are returning to piracy or is something more sinister happening?

Stealing several jump-ships is not an easy feat. Surely someone wants to take credit for the theft.
