Maybe it works like the Tim Allen movie, The Santa Clause. Wherein, there isn't just one Princess Celestia, but rather, as one's powers diminish, a new 'celestia' takes over. I'm probably way over thinking this.

Who?
Also known as King Sombrero, or Donut Steel. Had approximately one word's worth of dialogue in the Season 3 premiere, which currently means many background ponies in the episode outdid him on that end too.
We think we might have seen something like this, had they actually had enough room to fit him in his own premiere episode. (That's what they cut out with this whole 13 episode thing, Mane 6 gotta have X minutes of screen time per year by contract...)

Edit: I downloaded the mp3 (link can be found when you watch the clip at youtube) and I am listening to it for the past two hours straight. Still can't get enough of it.

Dear Hasbro:
I WANT A JOUSTING FLUTTERSHY ACTION FIGURE! Not a figurine, not a doll, not a plushie, A fully articulated, poseable, action figure. That way, I can put it in such dynamic poses as: Cowering in the corner, curled up in the fetal position, hiding behind things, begging for mercy, or beating the ever-loving snot out of Rainbow Dash.
Seriously. I hope the next episode involves large rocks being dropped on RD.
Very, very large rocks.

"Ze first one of you to look avay from ze vall vill be annihilated. Zat is all."
Twilight, you monster. That was a seriously sick and sadistic form of torture.
(but yeah, it was a fun episode)

Not exactly your kind of pony, but oh well.
Also, it seems these guys in Osaka Umeda agree with you. The Engrish is a bit powderful, but you probably wouldn't have expected otherwise.

When I saw that series of posters, I thought of you guys and took the shots for posterity. Pun intended. OK, I'm outta here, have fun. =)

Even if the other Pinkies were somehow 'lesser beings' than the 'real' Pinkie Pie - they were still clearly sentient creatures. They were capable of communication (Pinkie explaining things to them, understanding orders and directives), higher learning (learning proper names of Ponies), enjoyment ("fun!"), and demonstrated a desire to survive (none of them would have looked at the wall at all had they no desire to continue to exist).
And then T-w-i-l-i-g-h-t G-e-n-o-c-i-d-e over there decides that they don't count as people and are free to be eradicated, lower than cattle, really.
Not to mention, the method of extermination looks particularly painful and a horrible way to die.
This scene is really, really, really dark. Look how pleased with herself she is when she's eradicated all but two of the Pinkie-beings. Notice how Fluttershy and Rarity are frightened and disgusted, but powerless to stop her brutal and cruel magical mass murder.

1.) "It's magic, I ain't gotta explain sh*t."
2.) "It's just a show, I should really just relax."

Considering, what those magical clones could do with their bodies on their own, I also don't believe that it was particularly painfull for them.

The concern and sadness the real Pinkie had over the situation, shows that she cares for more than just fun, but her friends and town as well, thus having more than the body and brain of Pinkie.

Frickin' Batman. First he eats Pinkie Pie, now he makes Fluttershy cry.
