Blah blah blah flame flame whatever.
Paintjobs. I would throw $5 at a good pony paint scheme for my secondary (my primary will have to have a Mithril theme) and keeping custom paint jobs on server is not as hard as it seems. Cosmic Break (a good fast paced mecha combat game from japan) offers great customization up to an including being able to upload your own custom skin to mecha in your garage, and there is no noticable lag. I don't know how they do it, but it works and works well.
Blah blah flame paintjobs flame blah. Now this is a curveball, and by that I mean a dumb arguement (no offense to op). The second the game goes live we will see Linebackers painted up like Cletus the NFL bot if paints an option and I am fine with this. I am more concerned by the issue Cosmic Break ran into with all the /a and /b tards doing memetic and pornographic skins. I DO NOT want to see a god damned ****** hunchback! However, no matter how ugly or offensive a paintjob is to me I take comfort in the fact that I can improve upon it with the proper application of autocannon.

I don't understand why that topic seems to be so important to everyone...
It kind of is a shame, but they probably shouldn't have given her that name in the first place, noone can deny that it is somewhat controversial.
Really, I thnk the show is awesome, but I can't help myself thinking that people are overreacting!
Maybe I just don't get it.
In fact I don't think that vid, even though very well made, is anything to cry about, actually I don't buy that you did...
Well take a different view on that. Despite her name being that way, it was given to her, of all love her fans shared, and in fact, no one thought of her as a ****** (derp doesn't even correspond to retardation, it's used to describe something silly and clumsy, not retarded) and she is silly and clumsy character, and despite the fact some may see her as a bit disabled, look at her fans! Who of them hates her for that? No one, she's our beloved little heroine, and if anything fanbase showed nothing but compassion, love and care to this little character that perhaps was otherwise condemned to be just forgotten with time. It's the community that gave her this life and character as we know it right now...
And why it's a flame? Well, if you find her offensive because of her name, what message it gives that beloved Derpy is having a name changed, eyes straightened, and possibly, as Hasbro claims, be removed from the show (editad out) - now the message to the show's audience is pretty much
Let's remove handicapped people, because well, we don't like them on our show. It's a place for perfect beautiful master-pony-race
It wouldnt be much fuss if she was obscure character not given any attention at all, but since she has her own fanbase, it would be like changing Darth Vader's armor colour from black to white, because it might offend black people... what is obvious idiotism. But the compariosn works if you scale the fanbase to size of this show.
Beside it's funny how dissabled and handicapped people deffend Derpy on various community sites, from facebook to forums and message boards. It's always some politicly correct fully able jackass that has to police everyone and preach BS about their idea of pseudo-tolerance.
And at the same time you are feeding a huge dose of flame with saying she's controversial... When at the same time you have characters like Ed from Ed, Edd and Eddy, who is an absolute mental ******, Patrick of Sponge Bob who is offensive to a point it's staggering he wasn't removed... and many many others.

This is the Off-Topic section of the forum. i.e. everything that is not relevant to MechWarrior: Online.
Not that it wouldn't be generally awesome if you could fit your mechs with custom decals of your choosing, possibly for a small fee.
@Derpy discussion: If people really consider Derpy "retarded" etc., then they are essentially demanding, that a retarded person (hoarse) should not be present in a show for young girls. And isn't that actually offensive against those challenged people? Pretending they do not exist in society?

Ha, awesome!
Now about the Derpy-"issue"...
Hanibal, don't get me wrong, I don't find the character offensive or anything, all I'm saying is that I understand the reasons for their actions, not that I agree with it.
I mean now that you mention it, I remember quite a few, perfectly healthy people, who acted like that because they thought they needed to protect someone, completely disregarding the oppinions of the people they wanted to protect. But that's not the point, what bothers me is the way fans react to it...
It's alright to voice your oppinion, and write letters and stuff, but some actions just seem over the top.
As for the actual changes:
the name: well, not that big of a deal if you ask me, kind of a shame that they completely removed it rather than change it, but well...
the voice: tbh I think neither the old, nor the new one really fit the character to begin with. The old one is just too "goofy" while the new one isn't "goofy" enough, something in between would be nice.
I'd only be upset if they completely removed her, which I think is unlikely since she's actually part of the crowd in the latest episode.
I think you also have to keep in mind that the show is produced in a country where it only takes on angry person with a good lawyer, in order to sue the motherloving **** out of them for something like that...
... okay maybe I'm exagerating, but I think you could even get in trouble for it over here in germany, not as much though and you'd have to be very presistent.

Among critiques of MLP FiM there were homosexual extremists bashing rainbow dash of depicting offensive stereotype of angry feminist lesbians and there are still lesbians who send e-mails to Hub demanding change of Rainbow Dash... But most of people including lesbians and feminists really liked Rainbow Dash and have no problem with her, my friend is in homosexual elationship and she adores Rainbowdash for being cheerful and brave and has no problems with her hair color or stuff...
There were some black people who write e-mails to Hub all the time bashing the show for depicting Princess Celestia - a beautifull white tall mare for being one in power, while her sister Luna, which has black mane is considered the antagonist... they called it racist and if you look at it, they had way more reasons to be pissed and the response was quite much more ferocious... however! There were hundreds of black people viewing the show and absolutely loving it, their kids having blast watching, and no alteration was introduced.
Lastly characters of Snails and Snips - depicting two 'socialy rejects' and awkwards, who are living icon of laughing out at school geeks and mentaly disabled goofy people... did anyone took notice? Nope... And Snail's cutie mark is even a snail... how did they pushed that through production?
But Derpy? With Derpy it's flame, cause not even mentaly disabled people attack her or find her offensive... the VAST majority defends her. Only some pompus types like Yamino want's to see that character taken down, and whole lot of Soccer Moms that rage just seeing her.
I know what you want to say, Sesambrot and I do agree that this is getting bit far, but heck if you look at this whole sensitivity issue with all other characters and cases about the show and how hasbro reacts to it... and how they reacted to fan-beloved Derpy... it's staggering. In dialogue with Faust it is often said that Derpy is child of her fans, and she grew out of Internet's passion towards the show, this is intense connection between audience and a character, it's almost like you, and thousands of bronies arround the world created something yourself and you see it live and grow in the show... and it is that symbol and character that is under attack, of all that were so controversial and not even slightly had a back up of such scale... Derpy is considered to be removed, or 'rearanged'... to the point she's just an empty husk of same color and figure.
That's what makes people so, so mad.
