From this day on, I like Commando, or whatever the name of the mechs to the right is.

On the left is an Atlas. The mech on the right most is a Firestarter. Sadly, I don't remember what mech down the middle that is.

Hope that helps. =)

An' the one in the middle's an Assassin.

Or at least it looks similar.

Its an Apollo, or a Stealth.
The Assassin's missile launcher is located in the lower-torso, whereas the Apollo/Stealth has it towards the top of the torso.
Another difference is that the Assassin has only one hand actuator, while the one in the image clearly has both

Ah can't say for sure (Ah ain't much of a 'Mech know-it-all), but seems like this 'Mech's too chunky compared to the one in the picture. An' the arm-bits ain't 'xactly matchin', either, 'cause the upper arms an' cockpit ain't nothin' alike...

Oh well. Just another mystery...

Not many who took up the fandom are really all that interested in anything that is not 4th generation, so I think anything you have before then is likely safe. I would also put up a conjecture that most of the individuals who got into the show were people prone to be cartoon watchers or comic readers before hand. In which case they were already enjoying shows that they might not exactly be the target audience for. In such case, it's likely watched less for what the characters are and more who the characters are. The shows quality, as kids shows go, is fairly high. The jokes designed to help entertain parents along with kids help that quality widen the audience some.

Again, this is conjecture. There are plenty of people out there who have their own analyses on the subject, and my own may be colored by my own reasons. Additionally, there is a much wider array of reasons, but today I wanted to keep this short.

Thanks for the explanation! I guess it's kind of like how more adults are fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender? Something aimed for kids yet had some jokes to keep adults entertained and still had a compelling story.

Edit: My inner 6 year old is happy that you won't steal her ponies! :)

Kind of like a lot of shows nowadays. Adventure Time, Avatar, Invader Zim (especially if you ever read the JtHM books he wrote), The Regular Show, iCarly, Drake & Josh (old, but meh), etc.

A lot of writers know that if you make a show so terribly insufferable for adults it won't last very long.

Ah, the thread that inspired us. Always an entertaining read.

I once resisted too. But it's inevitable. The power of friendship cannot be beaten. We shall spread it throughout the Inner Sphere.

My fellow bronies, the following is targeted at you:

We can all agree that the show is light-hearted, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable; however, the need to prosyletize and spread the message of friendship must NOT supersede the bounds of good sense, taste, and the general rule of not rushing every forum we find ourselves on like zerglings to a command center. While we all share the same enthusiasm, we must rein in it sometimes and not go down the road Pinkie Pie paved.

To all, I wish you a prosperous evening, and I look forward to meeting you upon the future field of battle, whether in cooperation or confrontation!

Ah'm not 'ntirely sure we're rushin' the message 'round like you say. Seems to me like it's only confined to a single thread, not bein' pushed 'round the entire forum at once...

You know, I'd like to counter your statement with an alternate view of the situation. As already pointed out by Big Mac, pretty much all of the Pony related content has stood isolated to this thread. Those of us who have posted outside this thread have put our posts into discussing mech related content, not ponies. I think the closest to 'proselytizing' any of us has done has just been the fact that my call sign is 'Twilight Sparkle.' Even then, all of my content outside this thread has been discussion on possible mechanics or favorite mechs. I'd like to further debate that this thread is not proselytizing, but a point in which individuals who are fans of Mechwarrior and also fans of Ponies to meet up with each other. This provides us with the later option (if we so chose) to play the game with each other, or even join the same mercenary company. I really don't think there is anything wrong with Pony fans having one thread to themselves. I understand your concerns, but I think there a little unfounded in this case. =)
