Hon. Founders;

I, for one, am grateful for your kickstarter support of the game. Were I completely free to do so, I might join you in this. Unfortunately I have a long history of building my computers and buying my softwear. It has not been a happy one. I have been burned many times by rotten programs. My policy is to give any new offering a few weeks/months to settle in before buying it. This is why I was delighted with the F2P risk reversal marketing strategy adopted for MWO. This is a path to market that I will support if the game actually delivers what it promised. I hope that a founders option is still available in December. The game looks like it will be well worth playing and supporting and I will do so at that time if the opportunity is there and my expectations for the success of MWO are bourne out.

The risk reversal F2P model is torpedoed for me if I am spending $120 sight unseen. I have lived my computer gaming life since the early 80's in that condition and DETEST IT. Say what you will about piracy. Say what you will about copy right and brand infringement. I have chosen to shelve that discussion untill I get to Heaven. I won't be burned by softwear again if I can help it, and games distributed over the net on a F2P basis with the option of supporting the company with the purchase of game enhancements is a simple way for me to be sure that I won't be subjected to the past 30 years of lemon softwear publishing practices. For example, the game company Blizzard could write the perfect game, and send it to market in an impeccably virtuous manner, and I would not buy it. The brand is forever ruined by thier dispicable history.

I have purchased hundreds of games and experienced/read these interactive movie/Ibook/simulations instead of watching tv. I don't regret the time or money spent, on the whole I have enjoyed the entertaining pass time. I expect this will remain true into the future. Unfortunately past fraud, and current game publishing practices from the likes of Blizzard have convinced me to verify a game's worth before paying for it. MWO using the F2P system serves this policy of mine well, and I am greatful. I will try it out in august, and try to express my grattitude for it with an Elite Founders purchase in December. If this is not possible, I will simply have to accept the game efficiency hit and the loss of Founders cudos for helping to launch the best title in the Battletech Franchise.

Thanks for listening to my rant, I am still fresh from watching some error 37 videos and tears of laughter drove me to the pony forums to share my take on the issue. Since this is a pony thread, I thought I would let Rarity have a few releavnt words on the subject.

Respectfully

Samaritan

Ok, so I'm seriously looking through the forums and my youngest climbs up on my knee, takes one look asks asks if she can look at the Ponies, I click on the link and 3 hours later we're still watching My Little Pony Season 1 :blink:

Persian Myth? Greek Legend? Lessons on morality and the value of trust and friendship? . and that's JUST episode one. . :)

I have misjudged you My Little Pony. . I shall not do so again :)

(Got another session of Ponies with my kid again tomorrow . . I had to promised not to peek and spoil the suprises. . . . damn kid, leaving me in suspence like this :) )
