(Did a search, only place discussing it was closed down- patch feedback.)

I think that Catapults need to get the same treatment the Atlases and Awesomes got.. The hitbox for the atlas cockpit is actually smaller than the visual for it's eye (and surrounding area)
Awesome is same way.

I think the Catapult needs the same treatment.

(And no, I don't drive catapults a whole (and rarely get headshot) lot so this isn't a reactionary rant thread.)

The Catapult has several other large advantages
  • huge torso twist
  • extremely well-protected side torsos allowing for generous use of XL engines
  • Powerful loadout options to due hardpoint configurations
You'd have to remove all of these before considering giving it a cockpit hitbox as small as the Atlas.

I don't have an A1, but nice try on the reactionary post.

Sounds like the Cataphract (who has slightly larger STs) and it had its head hitbox reduced as well.

Cataphract has HUGE side torsos and much less torso twist. CTFs also cant' boat 6 SRM6s.

You have a C4, and you're boating SRMs, nice try walking out of the question.

They need a cockpit that's easier to hit to keep them out of close quarters.

same for me (no gauss or ac20 on the k2 either ;))... and the hitbox is big enough, i wouldn´t mind if it´s smaller but actually all in all the catapult is okay...(mostly @WhiteCat)

Then you have no reason to be so close to get headshotted that easily.

Their STs aren't much bigger than the Cat's (Cat ST is easy to hit from the side, where as Cataphract is easy to hit from front.)

Cataphracts and sport twin-guass (in the arms so they have much more flexibility than torso mounted guass cats.. and Case actually helps them.) They have better tonnage to support it as well.

They also have the only mech that can sport 3 UAC5s.

I'm a Catapult driver and I don't think a change is needed.

You are completely missing the point.. (other chassis have heads misrepresented..)

You're dismissed.

Even if you personally are not boating, the chassis as a whole is still capable of some extremely effective builds (plus huge torso twist and unparalleled ability to safely use an XL engine as mentioned above)

The chassis and it's variants have too many strengths to give it a tiny defensive cockpit hitbox.

I own three Catapults and I think the head hitbox is fine.

you can headshot a catapult from 800m easily without even aiming for it...did it myself, everything i could see was the target box around it and alot of trees... headshot by guessing, no problem on a catapult..and i am not the best sniper out there

as i said above, the cat is okay as it is

Is this a Kittiebuff thread? Doesn't need it. Removing its sensitive nose just makes it that much better a chassis, and it already outshines plenty of rides. Last thing a Kittie needs is to be even harder to kill. Not because I hate them, but because making them even better is unnecessary. It is a great chassis as it is, and has been since day one of the game.

You can't compare it to the Atlas hitbox change. The Atlas was a laughably easy kill with a giant head hitbox, far simpler than facepeeling a Kittie. Easier than the prefix Awesome, even. Not much of an iconic assault mech.

The Awesome, lol. Even when they shrank up the hitbox on that thing it was still gimpy. Good pilots did well in them because they were good pilots, not because the Awesome was set up decently. It took them this long to put the chassis on a decent footing with its weightclass competitors.

(I don't see why people have so much difficulty with Cat boat.. they're the only boat that can be easily disarmed (literally) from anywhere it can be seen.. it has a couple of CTs on other shoulder...)

I am honestly torn on this issue. I only recently started piloting Cats. When Im fighting them the head hitbox is fine. When I'm piloting them it SUCKS!!!!! I'm so confused...... ;)

You're missing the point too, you shouldn't be as close, you fail to understand it isn't a brawler, and that could be one of the reasons you are bad with it.

Lol I'm not bad with it.. and no.. I don't brawl with it either. (My C1 is LRMs and my K2 is an ERPPC sniper..)

You're making a crapload of assumptions and you've looked foolish what four times? five times now?
