I read this thread and smiled.

To make CPLT-A1 even viable, you need XL engines, DHS and Endo Steel internals atleast--otherwise it is an overheating sluggish papier mache. A Stalker-3F can do SRM Bukkake without any of those fancy stuff. Best of all, no lucky de-earing.

I thought to myself--If people can upload some random video of doing well and claiming certain mech as unbalanced, then why not upload one of my own?

There you go. Once I get enough C-Bills for DHS, Endo Steel internals and Artemis, it will be even more GG.

PS: Frozen City is so much fun for sneaking behind people--even with an Assault mech.

To make most mechs "viable" or as good as they can be generally requires DHS or endo. (for anything other than assaults that is)

So I don't think thats a good place to base your argument imo.

That and the stalker is slowwwwwwww.....or at least.....is slower than anything else I run. :)

Sluggish papier mache then. De-earing them is so easy.

Oh it served my argument well. See how unbalanced Assaults are? They don't even need any fancy tech to strike terror into the heart of the enemy!

Once I upgrade my STK-3F, people wish I was piloting a CPLT-A1.

Slow as my Stalker is, it can still bone someone from behind from the most unexpected places. Besides, I can make it go faster once I get Endo Steel.

SRM boats need some sort of penalty if you stack more than 2 SRM6s I think, but at least they're really short ranged.

The A1 is the superior SRM boat (imho) due to the widest torso twist arc in the game, and the speed to actually close in to SRM range. The stalker is a lot easier to avoid, so unless they catch you in a narrow corridor by surprise, they aren't dangerous. Just 2 cents from a light/cicada pilot.

Light/Cicada pilots should find it easier to fight a CPLT-A1, because all it has is SRM--so easy to avoid.

You can't avoid Stalker's lasers once I put my back next to a wall, I will tell you that.

Stalkers almost never see use in top tier competitive play. So no, they are not OP. Random pug drops just do stupid things like close in on them for no reason or chase a raven while exposing their backs to a stalker.

A mech that mops the floor with bad players playing bad, does not mean it's a good mech.
People will never understand this and these types of threads will continue.

So you think any mech that is used frequently in competitive play is OP? That logic is flawed.

Sure the Stalker can barely twist at all, but that's not terribly relevant to taking on fast-movers. You only really need two things to do that.

First you need to know the technique. Reverse throttle and turn the opposite direction of the light's circling path. This puts him in front of you again, and is easy to keep doing even if he tries to get fancy and switch trajectories.

Second, you need timing. This matters especially with SRMs, given their flight time. But with 4 SRM6s, it only takes a couple of solid hits to end the threat, and if your timing is good you can get those in very short order (some light builds evaporate in a single volley).

Of course, a Stalker can bring lasers too, which makes it even more dangerous for the light to try anything (6 ML hurts quite a bit, even if it's just sweeping over you instead of being focused on a single point).

Boating SRMs with that horrible torso twist arc and slow turn rate and saying it's the better SRM boat than a Catapult that on top runs 10 kph faster and has JJ for faster on the spot turning?

lolz the are only few things good about the stalker srm boat.
nothing you listed as it being best at is crazy.
for those with skill XL catapults own stalkers in everyway.

I'm not sure you understand the difference from spanking new guys or spanking pugs.
