European format for dates are always confusing in the lower numbers. At least for us AMURRRICANS.

Anyways hope you guys get this all patched up by the end of classes tonight :)
Good luck!

That's why there is the ISO format... just order the numbers by their significance... 2013-02-12...
or by now it is 2013-02-13 and I am at work and can't destroy mechs... *sigh*

Jeez, bunch of armchair sysadmins on this forum. "Can't you just take down one server and bring up another" and "why not use virtual servers" like you guys know wtf they are working on. Could be database maintenance, could be an offline backup, it could be all sorts of things.

Sure, 99.9% uptime is desired, but the closer you get to 100%, the cost goes through the roof.

Get your TT books out and chill next time.

Today I learned there was a new mechwarrior simulator. Armored core 5 was a huge dissapointment. I have a lot of faith in this from what I have already seen. Is this still in beta? When is the release date? How much?

More than 6 hours downtime just for removing a sale is plain stupid. You guys really need another ship-system where you can change prices on the fly.

Open betas serve the dual purpose of demonstrating a product to potential consumers, and testing among an extremely wide user base likely to bring to light obscure errors that a much smaller testing team might not find.

I'd rather let them run into obscure errors now that the product is still early in open beta. It's entirely our own decision if we want to spend money on a beta product, and I for myself did not regret spending over $150.

Changing prices 'on the fly' just leads to confusion and people feeling ripped off. Chances are, people currently in the buying process will get charged different amounts than they got displayed in the first place, or people getting different prices than others, because their game didn't update them as intended and stuff. So the only way to keep it maintainable (get it? :)) is to shut off, change stuff, boot up. After all, we all want the same prices and our payment data secure.

as i said in the igp stream- i pity the poor devs. So much hope and rage to deal with

Now where is my free pony??

The post patch/maintenance thing I feel that my game looks different- cant place finger on it but colours and view seems off. Might be the 5 hours of watching you tube and twitch to get my MWO fix.

So you kinda suggest that let's say amazon shuts its website down for 6 hours everytime they change a price or add a sale or article? Makes sense. Totally. Don't let people playfor this long just to remove a promo sale is just a big "FU" towards the european player base. Problems with it? Do a rollback and let people play and perhaps buy at cheaper prices for another 6 hours and patch it when the problem is solved.

Not exactly. And I am not quite sure that these two are comparable, as we have a website on the one side and a game with a native game client on the other. I am sure this would be achievable by having a complete checkout process with order review or stuff, but then again you might have to apply it to everything that can be bought with either MC or CB, too. And I personally would not like to be bothered with shopping carts and checkout processes just to be able to buy a Spider chassis.

I am not saying it is perfect as it is at the moment, but it is a solid implementation and it provides fair and equal situations for every player.

And I am quite sure there was a bit more to the outage than just swapping price tags.
