So believe me when I say there are people 'on the inside' who play just like you do to make sure these systems work.
HA HA I knew that you know Sir, this game will suck and fail, that's why you won't spend a dime on it... HA I knew it !!!
Now yes I know I am sometimes grumpy and tend to complain occasionally but honestly I hope no one will take this one seriously

i agree there isnt alot of content but its getting much better with time and everything takes time.
maps will come and mechs will come.
i do think though that a in game lobby not just a in match lobby is needed and lot of things will go to the waste side with complaints.
want to make this the best ever then give us the ability to make game rooms.
then allow us to make it night, put in rain or fog .
allow us the ability to have teams get in to a room together and bid a match and drop against each other and you have a big winner.

Until ECM, I might have agreed with you...now MWO has become predicatable, repetitive and boring.
TF2 is the only game I do not mind grinding in.
While I find some of the pricing to be utterly ridiculous, and the fact that mastered mechs continue to earn useless XP vs GXP puzzling/frustrating, MWO is far from a money sink.
Looking forward to the Trebuchet, and hopefully some other performance improvements.

I have a video of the match, but I stopped uploading to youtube when the gameplay video thread disappeared.

Well I am taking them seriously... BUT IT IS USUALLY LATE

But my opinion. C-Bill grind is OK I enjoy the game and slowly extending my garage and improving the builds with time as well. No premium used and 90% non founders mechs.Only grudge I have is Modules cost, I just can't reason for instance how 4 X Zoom broken binocular module can cost so many C-Bills for instance. Don't mind the GXP grind for them, but prices are just way off... single modules worth more than armed Battlemechs itself? Not sure were is that coming from, still can do fine without them though, and maybe later I will get few or more.
Not happy to much with MC Prices like for colors and cockpit items in 1000's, but again I can live without that overpriced stuff and wait for some better promotions. Hero mech prices, same as above, if there will be interesting promotions I might consider buying few, still OK to live without them and cant deny that PGI kept the balance without making them in any way OP, just different.
Overall I'm still happy with the game and having good fun. Lately seen some good improvements, and maybe after next patch with new map and hopefully few more bugs fixed I'll try to get my buddies on board again

Hey poster, read some of the posts written by other people to get an idea about what an intelligent post should look like. You've dropped the ball big time. My friends won't even post on these forums any more because there are so many whiny, pointless posts like yours. The old excuse that it was a first draft is not enough. I made a free to play account to see what it's like, and my wife also runs a non founder free to play account. Both of those accounts earned multiple mechs and a fair amount of cbills, without spending a dime.
That being said,I haven't spent any money on this account since my founders mc ran out,and I won't until there's a really good sale,or prices are adjusted to provide better value. The MC prices for items are far to high, and the MC you receive for packages is far to low.In my opinion, the value just isn't there.
Also, there should be a way to earn or convert MC within the game.Even if at an abysmally slow rate. Most F2P games have some sort of feature like this,or sell everything in either cbills OR MC.*except maybe hero mechs*
*edit - not sure why i said they "earned mech bays"*

Twenty-five games, at roughly 5-10 minutes each, in my Cicada CDA-2A. So 7.5 * 25 = 187.5 minutes, or just over three hours played. So I started when I got home from work at 6, and by 9 I have roughly 9 million C-Bills, and the knowledge that the CDA-2A is the greatest Mech in existence. I decide to buy the CDA-2A.
So, 9,000,000 - 3,194,944 = 5,805,056. I think I want an XL 300, so I sell my 320 engine for 981,333 C-Bills, and now have 6,786,389 C-Bills, and buy an XL 300 for 4,900,000. This leaves me with 1,886,389. I buy DHS, leaving me with 386,389. I remove the SL, and add four more Medium Lasers at 320,000, leaving me with 66,389. I buy 5 DHS, leading me with 6,839 C-Bills which I use to add armour. All I need to do now is save up for Endo-Steel, add two heatsinks, and TheGarths CDA-2A is complete

I have played for quite some time and quite some hours today also.
I have one mech - a catraphract, which is where all my cadet money went.
Now - for me a match takes about 7 minutes, but it takes some time before i do the next match, so let's say 10 minutes per match.
I make about 60 000 in the average match. I don't have premade-teams and about every second game starts with at least one disconnect ally anyways, which most of the time yields in loss.
I understand that people make more on average, but if i lose i sometimes get as little as 30 000, if there were very little casualties on the enemy side, which is often the case.
So if i play non-stop i have 360 000 in one hour, the number is probably a bit high.
I am at 2.5 millions now and i don't know whether it's worth playing at least 12 hours straight (!) until i can afford an interesting heavy mech or the cheapest Awesome.
I like the game, but this seems like very bad motivation.

Hey uncle, which cataphract variant do you have?
Maybe we could help you on your load out and maybe make "the grind" a little more fun/easier on you?
I have master in all my cataphracts,so i have some knowledge on them, and I'm sure there are people around here that can help you out more than myself as well.

I am actually pretty happy with my Cataphract, i really like the damn thing.
It's a CTF-4x and i tried out quite some stuff with it. I have the ferro-armor, but i can't afford dhs, i think it's better to have a second mech first.
I tried out Quad-AC2s with one LRM 5. Which was pretty nice, but I only had 4t of ammo and less armor is not really viable (I am at 394 Armor)
So my build was AC5, AC10, 2 Medium Pulse Lasers and LRM5,
right now i am trying out 2 AC2s, 1 AC10 and LRM5.
But yeah I would be glad if someone could help me out. Maybe i could play with some of you more experienced catapract guys? -> It would be nice if you'd add me to your friends list.

Then I would not have to wait endless minutes after each match for my mech to come from the battlefield and i would also have something to care about.
If i was set already, it would be different i guess, I would play because i enjoy it.
In my case it's 12 hours plus the 6 or 8 hours i spent to get the 2.5 millions

Hey,no worries,I'm always willing to help out a new player.Feel free to friend me in game and I'll do what I can to help out.
First of all, dump the ferro armor and get endo steel structure instead.Endo steel is superior in every way,at least for now anyways.Ferro takes up the same amount of slot and gives much less weight reduction in return.I really wish there was something that made this obvious in game, because I see way to many people that simply aren't aware.
DHS are pretty much a given upgrade on...well...pretty much everything. They simply make almost every mech out right better.
For the loadout on the 4x,A lot of people swear by the quad AC builds.4xac2 or 2xac5+2xUAC5 seem to be popular.I mostly use the 2x and ilya,so I'm not terribly familiar with the 4x.
here's a quick and messy example of the quad ac2 deal I threw together in smurfy mechlab.I toyed around with the 4x a bit,but didn't like the slow speed.Albeit the 4xac2 build is hilarious fun because it spews out so many bullets so fast, and has awesome range.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f0ad34cfbe71163
This setup has full armor and plenty of ammo for the ac's and srm4.Don't bother with LRM's unless you have enough space/hardpoints to boat them. One LRM5 salvo will get eaten anytime there's even 1 enemy AMS around.Like I said,I just tossed this together real quick,so modify it to your taste. If you really want to spend some money, you might go with a bigger XL engine, but you have to decide between more firepower/ammo or survivability.
As far as playing the phract, try to stay a bit away from the main brawl and provide fire support if you can.The phract has a huge torso, which means it's easy for someone to get shots on your wide arse front. Also, the arm movement is very limited in comparison to most mechs with lower arm actuators,so always be aware of your surroundings and try not to let anyone get to close. It can be difficult to out maneuver someone once they get in on you.Especially with the 4x's lower speed/turn.
If you do start taking fire, try to swivel your torso around as much as you can while you retreat so you can spread damage around all of your parts.

It's not that bad. I haven't spent a penny and don't feel like I 'have to'. I'm tempted, especially with XP conversion, but not forced to.
