Why is not an option ? I don't need anything that comes wit it..I want just the chassis. It should be an option. Or - if you want a compromise - make the first chasis fo one class to be bought fully equipeed...and next ones to be available as empty chassis also.

That would open the game to farming.

This, 100x!! Especially for things like an assault with an XL engine! Why should I spend 5m CB on something I am just going to have to dispose of to recoup some of the cash, or just let it collect dust.

Or at least let us buy custom mechs at a slight increased base cost for chasis + equipment. So chasis cost +10% + basic min equipment required.

Only source of MC is from PGI. Making cbills is irrelevant since you can't sell it.... so where is the farming coming in?

You can already buy just the chassis, no need for any change. Buy a mech, strip off everything and sell the parts. You have an empty hulk and 50% of the c-bill value for the parts.

Exactly, so you just lost 50% of your cbill on all that equipment you didn't need, which a lot of times is more than the cost of the mech itself.

other than "because I want it", what is your justification for why buying an empty chassis for less than the net cost of buying a complete mech and selling the parts makes any sense?

Because why should I be forced to purchase items I don't want or need?

Seriously, if you are against this then you are the type of customer every retailer loves, the kind that just bends over and takes everything they can give and then thanks them for using lube.

Why would you ever buy something that you have no intention of using, just so you can sell it back for 50% of its cost? You are just throwing away money and wasting your time.

It is like this, you have a mech bay full to the brim with equipment. You want to buy a new mech. The chasis itself costs 1.5m cb. The equipment that comes stock on this chasis costs 6m cb. Now you buy this mech and sell all the equipment. So you shell out 7.5m cb and get back 3m cb. You just paid 4.5m CB for a 1.5m cb chasis.
And then you sit there and say to me, what's wrong with that?
Are you serious? I call troll, because that is the only rational explanation. 0/10

The reality is some things are simply purchased "as is"... It's a packaged product and you don't get to cherry pick what you want to buy and what you don't...

While I appreciate the fact that you find it ridiculous to have to purchase the fully kitted Mech, the Mech store is not a "build your own salad bar" with a free beverage and desert.

Why? Our little corner Mech-Store is a profit center. Simple as that...

Doubt it would happen. For my part, I only buy a model to do the XP on it. For that I play the one I like and use MC to convert. Being able to buy empty chassis is great for me, but not for PGI who need that CB sink.

Grind is part of Free to Play game balance. It will not be changing significantly.

I for one am happy mech C-Bill prices are as low as they are.

So?

We have the right to find it irrational to be forced to buy the fully equiped Mech, when we have already an over stock of engines and weapons...

Or at least, make it engine less... I had a tons of STD200 in my inventory...

seen so many topics on this subject, i agree, i have a mechbay full of equiptment.

if your going to have the nerve to say to me, you should only be able to buy mechs with all equiptment already in place, then im going to say to you Ok fine, in that case you can only use the mech as it comes from the shop seeing as you think the equiptment is so damn important.
while we are at it, why should you be able to purchase things other than mechs if they come with all this uber l33t equiptment! ;)

but the only reason they wont allow you do buy bare chasis is because buying mechs is the biggest cbill sink in the game, i mean the engine costs more than the mech and you would be able to collect all the mechs in a short space of time, so i think they need to rework the cbill system so people make less cbills, then they can give the option to buy a bare chasis without people being able to save 10s of millions of cbills in a short space of time.

You know I have no problem buying a fully equipped mech, just let me select the equipment that comes on it.

This way I am not paying for useless items. It is the useless stuff that annoys me.

I mean I think I have 4 XL 300 engines now, and I have no need for any of them. So there is something like 20m cbill wasted.
