Wow, impressive reaction to a troll post.
But really, MWO is almost as much F2P as there is. Sure, mech bays could come free with hero mechs and many items, such as hero mechs and camos, are horribly overpriced. Mechbays are not and four free ones is a decent number. If someone is not hooked by his fourth mech, they won't stay any way.

...In the same way as a game like League of Legends is free to play, where the statement "Free players have the same advantages as those that pay." can be made with a straight face.
For example, the recent thread about Mechbays being acquireable only through paying real money highlights the fact that MechWarrior Online's "free to play" model is more akin to a demo mode, where players can try out the game but to progress in any meaningful way, are expected to pay for it.
There seems to be a trend with recent games like MWO, Guild Wars 2 and even Deadspace 3 where micro-transactions have become... less micro. In all three cases they are still optional, and MWO has the distinct advantage of not costing the down-payment on a house to purchase AS WELL AS the "micro-transactions" that follow, nevertheless perhaps we could move away from "Free To Play" and the expectations that entails (no we can't -Finance & Marketing Dept.).
I'm not knocking MWO's payment model, although the prices do seem to verge on a little tasteless, but I reckon a lot of confusion and heartache would be avoided if people's expectations of "Free to Play" were clarified a little. For example, perhaps the game could wack a nice big glowey sign on an F2P player's client that says "You're Not Playing Till You're Paying!".

GW2 nor DS3 are F2P games, GW2 doesnt have a monthly sub, and paying for ANYTHING in GW2 not required, the only thing ive gotten gems for is the quaggan back piece...
DS3 isnt even a mmo, hell its owned by EA, so please keep it the hell away from this thread.

Nothing is the same as LoL, particularly this game. Its not a MOBA so its not even a fair comparison.
The game play style is what is going to determine your F2P model.
100+ champions and at least 5 times that many skins, all with individual skills, compared to a handful of weapons and different mechs to mount them on? Yeah, I think not.

"It isn't Free to Play until I get all of the content for free".
Does that sum it up?
