Performance has improved a bit, but turning off the hud (rightshift+f11) or going to the scoreboard instantly boosts the frames by 20fps. Can we please have a hud that doesn't use scaleform?

IE, in Caustic Valley, the new initial screen gives 60fps, then it drops to 35 when the normal HUD shows up.

4GB Ram
Geforce 560 Ti

Win 7 Prof 64
GTX 660 TI Jetstream
16 GB RAM
i5-3450

All Settings on Very High

FPS constant at 60.
My connection is very slow (countryside), but my ping is normally around 160.

Before the patch everything was smooth, never had problems. Just patched it and most common issues now are:

Blackscreen after initial overview.
Pilot gets "stuck" after pressing the red button (going to desktop and then back into the game helps sometimes) or I'll just get shot back to desktop.

Out of 4 games 1 went OK.

Experiencing a huge performance increase.

I used to average 35-40fps, sometimes dipping into the 20s. Now I'm getting a solid 50-60fps in combat, peaking up in the 80s during calm situations.

The game feels so much more fluid. Amazing job.

i cannot say what you did with this patch but my performance is worse than ever ;)
it doesn't matter which map i play, the framerate drops to 18-23fps once things get rolling. before the patch at least "forest colony" (and snow variant) was playable at 30fps. i posted many times about performance issues in the last patches. ever since open beta my fps dropped from a nice and steady 60fps max. down to this. why is my performance so much more worse than before?

also i posted my system specs many times (i was also in closed beta).
other friends that run a ATI graphics cards have the same problem with the framerate. also the client seems to heat up/put heavy load on my GPU even in the main menu screen (where really nothing is happening.

sorry for my bad english

For me performance improved greatly. My average FPS have gone up by as much as 20. Really great Job. I hope you can keep it up and squeeze out some more.

Connectivity and network performance is unchanged relative to the last patch. So it still is very good for. Little to no lagshield. Precise Hit detection. All good.

System:

Win 7 64 bit
4 GB Ram
Phenom II X6 1055T
2x Radeon HD 5750 1GB = 2 GB in total.

Awesome job on this last patch PGI! The game runs much better for me now!
  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
The game plays a whole lot smoother now. FPS counter didn't change a lot, but the lag-spikes seem gone. I can actually aim and know i'll hit what I aimed for
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
As stated, controlling the mech is a lot smoother
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
    Playing on low video setting
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
Avg FPS in menu is 30. In game 18-30

About 40 - 50% performance boost here. was getting 20 - 30 fps, now getting 30 - 45 with rare drops to the 20's, so this is a huge increase.

Well, game play wise, I have noticed some improvement but right now I can barely play! I can't even stay in a match for twenty seconds before I get disconnected and sent to the main screen! It is quite infuriating! I rarely ever had this problem before (I average ~90 ping) but after the patch today, I can't even play! I still haven't seen the end of round screen...

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?
Smoother framerate/gameplay.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.
In furballs, much more stable framerate.

Still seeing MASSIVE framerate drops (game freezes momentarily) whenever someone disconnects from the game.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Max. No change.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)
Out of fight:
Previous 48-51.
Post-patch 52-55.

In fight:
Previous: 30-45
Post-patch: 33-50

Huge increase in fps. Don't need to play with Set Affinity anymore.

2012 imac i7 3770 - 32 gigs ram - GTX 680MX - bootcamp windows 7 - ssd etc etc

1440p settings medium - high - 60 - 75 fps -- dips into high 40s.

Will play with environmental details and report back.

Now i tried that right shift + f11 and you are right! This patch brought my fps up a lot but toggling the UI and turning it off made my game get amazing fps.

Core i5 750 (3.36 GHz Overclock)
16 GB DDR3-1600 RAM
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950
60 GB Agility 3 SSD for games

Performance was so good in the 70 FPS range that I bumped up my settings from all Medium to High Object Detail, Shading, and Texturing. After that it's still a smooth 45-50 FPS at 1920 x 1200. Great work guys! It looks even better too.

When testing on my laptop I noticed a significant increase in performance going from barely playable to playable. Before this patch I would get 45 fps in the mechlab and at the start of a match, but as soon as I started to move, my fps would drop to about 19, and worsen when fighting in a large group. Now, I get the same 45 in the mechlab and match start, but when I start moving, it drops to about 30, and occasionally dip to 24. It's a lot smoother with fewer dips. I even managed to bump shading up to medium without hurting performance.

My GPU usage now ranges from 70 to 99%, whereas before it would stay around 70%. My CPU usage, however, is still fluctuating between 50 and 60%

My laptop's specs:
Windows 8 (64)
A10 4600m
Radeon HD 7730m
8 GB DDR3-1600 ram
1366x768 resolution

My video settings:
Low with Effects at Medium and Textures at High.

Performance in the sake of framerate seems to be very smooth and solid nowadays. A far cry from the way things were. To that end, kudos to the PGI staff.

On the other hand, netcode is as miserable as it's ever been, if not worse. I fully stand by my belief that Many areas of the game will get better and better with each patch, but the netcode never will.
