  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?

FPS is now almost constantly at 60. Previously, it would vary between 40 and 60.
  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes.

At the beginning of the match, where players are loading, FPS will drop to the 20s. Then, when first looking around at my team, FPS will drop briefly to around 40. I assume it's loading my team's mechs into memory.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?

Settings are at very high on 1920 x 1080 with Post AA off. My settings have not changed since the last patch.
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch (Press F9 to see your FPS)

60 in the menus, 60 ingame
  • System specs (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler])

    i7 3770k, 16GB RAM, GTX 680 2GB, Win8
  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location

    25 Mbps/5 Mbps, West Coast

Great patch, keep it up! I would average 30 - 40 fps before the previous patch. I lost about 3 - 5 fps with the netcode improvements. Bummer but understandable. The improved hit detection was worth it, but was hoping to get back to where I was. The current patch made me giggle with joy performance-wise. I used to run a mix of high/very high. Now I was able to set it to very high and still have better fps. Kudos!

- big fps gains, about 10 fps. I now average 40 - 50 fps
- see the fps meter spend a lot of time in the green, all around better performance
- 1280x1024, very high, no blur, fullscreen
- Mechlab was 60fps before/after patch. In game before averaged 30 - 40 fps. Now its about 40 - 50+ fps.
- AMD PhenomII x4 965 BE@3.6GHz, 4GB RAM, AMD Radeon 7850 (13.1 Cats), Win7x64
- Cable 3/1Mb, ~80 ping, Texas

This was a good patch for performance. I actually hit 60 fps occasionally with just one video card! Itemized list:

- Sound stutter from too many missiles in the air is much better
- Still getting a flicker on in-cockpit textures in some maps
- Connectivity and hitboxes feel pretty solid

I keep my graphics at medium, with effects on high (I think), until SLI gets implemented. I get ~40-50 fps, with spikes to 60 (HUD-hiding related, methinks) after the patch, and before I was getting ~30-40 fps and not much higher. Mechlab UI has always been 60 fps.

Sorry to say close to unplayable.
Severe rubberbanding during combat.
Otherwise improved framerate.

Exactly the same for me here in South Africa.

I never had rubberbanding issues and now the game is unplayable. The framerate is a tad higher than what it used to be.

No change in graphic settings - using the highest resolution, but medium quality settings. Around 60 FPS.

I've come across a few issues with the game tonight. Dropped into River City, after tweaking my graphic settings.
I had set everything to low after having everything on Ultra. And saw to my horror. Worse FPS I've ever had.
I'm talking sub 15 FPS where before the patch on high I was getting around 30 FPS running 2 monitors at 1680-1050. I turned off and unplugged one monitor and set everything to ultra, seeing a FPS around 30-40 FPS.

But why WORSE FPS on lower graphic settings?

I had a match today where I killed my target.

It said so in the upper left and the all players at the end.

But my kill did not register because the player who I killed also killed me a half a second later... and I was the last person on my team.

So check out this bug when is come to the last kill of the last player.

If you guys need anymore info just message me

Experiencing a huge performance increase.

I used to average 35-40fps, sometimes dipping into the 20s. Now I'm getting a solid 50-60fps in combat, peaking up in the 80s during calm situations.

The game feels so much more fluid. Amazing job.

1680x1050, Very High, i7 930@3.7, GTX 680, Win7 64.

Standing ovation for the guys at Piranha! Finally I am getting an average 60-80fps on Maximum Settings, huge performance improvement, well done guys!!!

All I need now is local Australasian servers so that my ping isn't so high.... oh yeah and DX11 support would be welcome too.

Did your enemy that you killed (but killed you 1/2 second later) get credit for killing you?

If my 'Mech is generating close-in smoke (overheat steam or missile fire) ... especially when walking backwards (smoke drifts in front of the camera), my framerate can drop from 40-50 down to 10-20 instantly.

Please investigate?

Games plays a lot smoother after patch! Not the maximum FPS but the choppiness or drastic drops in FPS are gone specially when there are things blowing up or smoke.

Good Job PGI! :)

Bit of strangeness today. All day earlier today I had consistent 60fps. I was like holy ****, they fixed it, they really fixed it!! Then...tonight consistently 30-40fps. And I'm ******* pissed. Gah. What the **** happened?

And the funny thing. It was on highest settings, and had better fps than high settings I usually have it set to. Really cheeses me off.

i7930, 18GB RAM, Geforce 470 GTX, 1920X1200 very high settings. pre-patch, I could get 40-55 consistently, post patch, it stayed green all day, and now it seems stuck around 35,45 fps.

My performance increased a bit (from 25-30 to about 40 fps), on highest settings.
I run i5 2500K clocked to 4400MHz, ati HD6790, 8Gb 1600MHz ram. No problems in that area.

Connection is a bit nore problematic. I'm having about 1MB/s download, 2,5Mb/s uload connection with about 30 ms ping to my ISP. My ingame ping is about 130ms. I'm having some serious issues with lag when using some weapons like PPC-s. It seems that the problems even got a bit worse since the last patch, but I can't say for sure. It's just impossible for me to hit anything with a PPC unless both I and the target are standing still.

Edit: by the way, I'm in Croatia.

I get this too, I've noticed it since the stalker got introduced though that could just be because ive been rocking PPCs and running a lot hotter than previously.

It seems to be worse on Forest and Frozen than on other maps, though its clearly noticeable on all maps. Easiest to trigger by standing still firing PPCs to near max heat then starting to reverse. You walk through your own heat cloud and thats when my fps plummets (single digits). As the cloud dissipates my fps goes back up to normal.

i7-3770k / GTX470 + win 7 64bit and latest Nvidia 310 drivers.

I was testing different graphics settings last night and I noticed if I set shadows to lowest setting it seems to fix it. Need to test it more tonight though before I can be sure. Ive been having steadily declining FPS since closed beta as I used to get 50-145 with vsync off, whereas the same slider settings now get me 25 - 38fps. I started at all low and got 110+ fps everywhere. Turned on PostAA and then worked my way up. As soon as I turned shadows from low to max I got the horrible fps drops in heat clouds again. Talking dropping from 80+fps to single digits. Had to call it quits for the night then so will test more when I get to play again.

You're in Croatia and you have a better ping than I do and I'm in the north east region of the US! I've been playing with a ping of around 150ms since the Jan 15th patch and have been in contact with my ISP (Verizon) to see if the problem is related to them or the game servers. I can ping other servers as far as California and still be below 80ms. I've posted on Verizon's support forums and have not seen any response from them at all. I'm considering going back to Comcast cable internet as this is rediculous.

Awesome job on this last patch PGI! The game runs much better for me now!
  • How had the patch generally affected your performance?

The game plays a whole lot smoother now. FPS counter didn't change a lot, but the lag-spikes seem gone. I can actually aim and know i'll hit what I aimed for

In addition to the overheat "steam", all smoke/particle effects seem to be increased greatly in this patch. Focused laser/SRM/ac5 fire on a single enemy mech from 3+ teammates literally envelopes them in a cloud of particles to the point that seeing direction of mech is impossible. Any 4+ mech close-in brawl with missiles likewise clouds the battlefield. (This did not occur anywhere near this extent before the patch.) I am seeing similar frame-rate drops as mentioned above which compound the aggrivation.

2-week fresh Win7x64 load (no other software loaded, MWO rig only), i5@4.2, gtx550TI latest drivers
