Not being able to advertise in All Chat will in no way effect your gaming experience for the worse.

just like advertisements wont effect your gaming experience any.

But they do, and I could easily prove that the chat can be abused to prevent what little's left of the pub communication.

Mike already beat me to it.

Don't you have some n00b green pubbies to farm before elo rankings? There's lots of pride in doing that, after all.

Ten years of PROUD history, all trampled by macro spamming chat in MWO, while you try to back cap.

I dont give a dam about my "rank" or the premades or pug stomping. Outside of my small group of like 6 friends on my TS that play, only 2 of them are ever online consistently, I pug like 50% of the time)

The future of Mechwarrior Online is in team play and premades/clans/houses with "goals"/mech corps, so deal with it.

As for the matchmaker/ELO long as the new matchmaker stops dropping me with "day one" people and people grinding spi in trial mechs then ill be a happy player.

But if you don't care, and you're part of the teams already, why do you think Joe Average in his n00b green atlas K could ever even bother to consider the option?

Actually you're wrong. Trash talking isn't legitimate, it's considered harassment.

And your post is completely inflated with irrelevant posturing. Oh, and I should tell you, that they do have those people already.

They're called CSR's, basically any game (even if it doesn't have online functionality) has customer support. If it were decided that in-game advertising is against the rules, then all they need to do is have someone report you and they just check your chat logs.

I tried to find the specific quote but I didn't see it under the regular harassment post and am not up for finding it for you tonight. Don't believe me, ask a dev. Trash talk is fine. Slurs, direct or personal insults, threats and the like are not. It's under Code of Conduct.

I'm aware of CSRs and their duties. Normally it's going to be dealing with things like reports of botting, violations of T&Cs or CoC, threats and the like. If you want them to hunt for people referencing the groups they're with, groups that in fact will be fully supported with their own code and quasi-economics in CW and that are pretty clearly the main focus of the game you're crazy.

If you find it so uncomfortable I don't know what to tell you. While having it outlawed doesn't affect me directly I'm against PGI expending any sort of resources on it. Those resources could be better spent getting up to get a drink of water or look at kitten pictures on the internet, not to mention dealing with serious issues.

It's a game literally built around the idea of community warfare, conflict between Houses and between the Houses and the Clans and heavily driven by player-run and populated mercenary groups. Of course they're going to come up in matches and in games.

Or you could actually send a message to support and find out if it's actual "abuse" of the system.

but then who would get to see you crying on the forum if you actually did that. There's no attention to be gained from having support telling you to ****

But I can. Would you like me to go into the game and spam the chat so full, the pubs can't communicate? Because I can.

I can also setup a macro that spams it for me when I press the fire button.

TL;DR; I am bad, despite ten years of gundam wing, so must beat on n00b green mechs to feel empowered.

#1: I pug. Pretty much exclusively. I've dropped about two dozen times with a friend or two, no VOIP.

#2: That you attempt to generalize every single person who plays with their friends this way makes it really, really hard to take any legitimate aspect of your post seriously.

If someone is harassing you or spamming in chat, be that repeatedly advertising their org or spewing profanity or just being such an ***** that it's disruptive report it. Saying you want to add talking about the groups that the game is to no small degree built to encourage and support to the list of things banned under the Code of Conduct is just....

Seriously? Sorry. Not trying to belittle your feelings on the subject I'm just trying to get what motivates you to put clan recruitment messages next to things like racial slurs, sweeping profanity, spamming chat so it can't be used and similar abuses.

So, lets say i would want to make a group. Currently the only way to get members if through the recruitment forums. So some spam sounds tentatively like a good idea. Personally i would not want to sign up with a group that is spamming, but if a member called me out personally i would at least look into it.

Insert generic example.
"Hey _________ i noticed that you are not in a splat cat and still did really well! If you want someone to game with, you should join _________, we could use someone like you."

that way your group looks like a friendly bunch of chaps :), and you still get to spam your name all over the chat without sounding pretentious and annoying.

that wouldnt matter since what your Original post was crying about was recruiting, not filling the chat with spam.

way to move the bar when you've lost the argument!

If the new matchmaking is done correctly newer people with less games under their belts will be grouped with other new people with similar stats, therefore less premade stomps and recruitment. Once a new player improves they will start getting matched with better players until eventually a group will notice them and attempt to recruit.

If 100% puggin is what a player wants to do then that is their choice in a game that is clearly going to be a team based game, deal with it or find another game.

To be fair, gold sellers are banned not for advertising but because gold selling itself is against the TOS, if you spam recruitment adds for your guild in general chat in WOW you won't be banned because guilds aren't against the TOS, same with this game. I would probably support the idea of removing 4 man vs pugs, I do think that pugstompers are somewhat harmful to the community (they drive away some noobies), but guild advertising really doesn't bother me.

It bothers me, and I made the thread.

It doesn't belong in the game. They have forums to recruit on, and friends. Right?

RIGHT!?

Anytime I see someone with like a military rank, or MOS code, or expression in a game I ask if they're currently in the military or a veteran. If they are, I invite an invitation for them to join with us. Ban me, I guess.

It bothers YOU. And then you try to prove your opinion with conjecture about how it hurts new players that are pugging and other logical fallacies. You've at the very least pulled out a straw man and "moved the goal" as previously stated.

Do you have verifiable, hard stats on the number of new players that have rage quit the game due to recruitment efforts via all chat? Where are your screen shots of recruiters (not you with your straw man argument) literally spamming the chat window through the game so much it becomes completely unusable? Do you have any argument that you can actually prove, with facts, beyond your opinion that you don't like them doing it, and the conjecture that it in any way hurts the game?

TL;DR: Your argument is a bunch of QQ.

And this is precisely why it's a troll thread...every try-hard point in your OP is incorrect Vass...It annoys YOU, nothing more...for that reason alone, I am in full support of it.

You know what's gonna end up happening. PGI will side with me, because my view is where the money lies. They'll make a special clan recruit chatter channel, and I won't have to put up with it.

They'll sort the worst of the worst into a tier 2 purgatory, that they can't leave. The game will be good. I get to play mechs. I can already taste the tears, like when RnR got removed.
