When PGI adds an actual weight mechanic to the game, I'll be more receptive of doing something like that. However the last time, it blew up in my face since Kong is extremely heterogeneous and they didn't like the rules I agreed to. Plus there's also the fact that none of this really matters, I'd much rather do scheduled fights in CW since that's when it counts and hopefully by then the matchmaking (and the game itself) will be much more diverse with matured systems in place to allow for greater enjoyment.

I know Kong's general aversion to a structured ruleset for drops...we can accomodate and play by whatever 'rules' you don't want :) really, for a meaningless ****-talking good-time scrimage night..who the heck cares..try hard, bring what ya want..goof-off...we run the gammit..

We're always up to it, as long as we can pull people together.
Drop a message in our thread. If there isn't a powwow, there will be fighting.

Like Norris said, this is all assuming we can pull them together, and they don't have a powwow. I like doing 8 manz dry. Connor is a bit more into the planning. Norris rarely does 8 manz, because REASONS. Some days, I won't do 8 manz because REASONS.

So it's always best to go to MWOG and pose a challenge. The less time people have to think about it, the better.

The issue I think with our 2 groups...is timing...from your on-line greenie, it seems that you and connor are just starting up as we're passing out for the night...best playtime to find Kong in strength? We run all the time, but rarely see you guys...and almost never in force enough to consider a 'real' match.

+1 to OP

Used recruit macros only in CB early OB, before pug-premmie civ war...

Now if i see a unit that adverts in 4-man i usually troll them back

Funny thing is that some units don't even reply when asked in 8s

There's no set time. The best you can do is go check in MWOG. If you see me spamming, chances are there's at least 8 people online.

Right now, we have 3 solo grinders and 6 idlers on that I can see. Every single patch day, all of us are around. So you can call out challenge on the 19th.

This thread is so silly I can't bring myself to be sarcastic or to make fun of it. It makes fun of itself.

It's a game. I promise. Some people really enjoy being in a team to play. They'll do so. Some people are a bit shy and like to feel pursued or courted, it makes them feel valued. Some people like to recruit others, it makes them feel like they have something to offer.

That's okay. How in the world, in what conceivable way is this somehow a threat or bothersome to someone? I just...

I dunno. Pretending it's some purposeful attempt to ruin your game for you when someone beats you is so narcissistic it's crazy. People play games in order to play a game and have fun. There are pretty much 8 winners and 6 losers in every match - plus one guy who's AFK and one guy who disconnected right before he was killed.

Premade teams are people exactly like you who just happen to have some friends on and want to drop together so they can share playing a game. It's not a conspiracy. There isn't some secret society of premades who gather and discuss secret plots to organize fun-destroying rampages across innocent pugs.

It's a few people who like to play together more than alone. That's it. Some of them have groups that have been together for over a decade. They just want to play the game just like everyone else.

They win and lose just like everyone else. There is no magic trick. There is no 'angle'. No abuse of a system. Someone tries to focus-fire you, you focus-fire them right back. Hell, you don't even have to call targets - just tell your fellow pugs 'shoot whoever is TAGed', or 'Target biggest to smallest' or 'closest to furthest, starting on the right and moving left'.

All you're really losing is the shared situational awareness. Warnings about backstabbing lights, spotters, LRM boats, flanking. These things are few and far between unfortunately.

You're playing the same game everyone else is playing. Why is someone playing with their friends such a threat to you?

I play with my friends, but I don't need to spam chat about our unit or how great we are and/or begin every round with "Hey we are Zulu! Join our unit, because we are awesome!!! Check out our fly website at: ______."

Being a unit, clan or group of friends doesn't mean you have to spam chat or act arrogantly in chat.

Not being able to advertise in All Chat will in no way effect your gaming experience for the worse.

Spam chat? After over 1000 matches I've seen less than 100 chat references to a clan or house. Normally 1 line. People act arrogantly regardless of clans or recruitment.

The point of the thread is... you don't want groups referencing their clan/org affiliations in chat. What if they're proud of them? Let me be absolutely blunt here - there is nothing wrong with even trash-talking. 'Taste the steel boot of House Steiner, courtesy of X Mercenary regiment' may not be friendly but it's completely legit. If 1 match in 100 involves a paragraph of recruitment posts you want to have it somehow monitored or outlawed? You want people paid an hourly wage from the same pool of money that pays for game development to sort chat logs and find people referencing clan affiliation?

I welcome those comments. That way I know there's a premade on the other team and I can set up accordingly.

Mike already beat me to it.

Don't you have some n00b green pubbies to farm before elo rankings? There's lots of pride in doing that, after all.

Ten years of PROUD history, all trampled by macro spamming chat in MWO, while you try to back cap.

Actually you're wrong. Trash talking isn't legitimate, it's considered harassment.

And your post is completely inflated with irrelevant posturing. Oh, and I should tell you, that they do have those people already.

They're called CSR's, basically any game (even if it doesn't have online functionality) has customer support. If it were decided that in-game advertising is against the rules, then all they need to do is have someone report you and they just check your chat logs.
