Ultra AC 20, ER PPC with 15 dmg instead of 10, LRM 20 without minimum range, SSRM 6 boats. The pain train is coming alright.

Bring your best teamwork, because you're going to need it against the Clans.

I will feast on the cheesebuilds and drink the tears of those who complain about Clan LRMs. It shall be delicious.
In all seriousness, I kinda hope they make it unbalanced just because it would be hilarious to see the whining.

How would they balance Clan weapons? Pretty much everything but reload time is in TT.

I hope I get a Kodiak one day. I'll bury it in the snow and jump out to ruin people like the GBL days. That would be so much fun.

Edit: Now I'm thinking about how kickburro a PGI Kodiak is going to be when the old one was cool-looking even back then. :E :E :E

Honestly, I wish they could have stuck with a succession war era style. Oh well.

You shouldn't because they are not in the game yet, and PGI will have a concept to balance them.

Reload times are sorta' in TT: Solaris 7 dueling rules. Except you could override the delay and fire again, but with a chance of destroying the weapon, and guaranteed extra heat build up. Fast mechs with lots of small weapons and an excessive number of DHS were the way to go.

What I'm worried about is the Clan Streak's increased range. Streak 6 damage at 360 meters.

I think the Timberwolf's miniguns are mounted in the center torso...so I doub't you'd have enough crits in there.

I don't mind the whole balanced thing, but I think at least optionally i'd like a "historic" mode.

I love playing underdog. Not everyone is a chickensht ;) .

You got to think like ARNOLD from THE PREDATOR........."IF IT BLEEDS........WE CAN KILL IT"

I guess i'm old school.

Well, for one thing a lot of Inner Sphere weapons (among other things) in-game are currently violating TT so that point doesn't hold much weight.

Also, there are other potential sneaky ways to go about this. For instance, maybe Clan lasers could have a longer beam duration (1.5s for a CERLL, 1.25s for CERML, 1s for CERSL, etc.). Ballistics could have a slightly slower projectile speed or something (slightly slower reload?). Missiles could have a slightly bigger spread (I once saw a suggestion for Clan LRMs to not be able to indirect-fire, which sort of ties in to Clanner-honor anyways).

Failing any of those, the pilot tree could be different for Clanners since they might not need to buy 3 variants of a chassis anyways. Maybe we could let IS mechs keep the static boosts (i.e. +10% speed) but make the Clanner tech tree oriented around changing weapon/equipment mounts? For instance, you could upgrade your energy hardpoint to a "direct fire" one (can hold a ballistic or energy weapon) or a "heat generating" (missile or energy). After you get both, then it becomes an omni (can hold any weapon). The hardpoint-oriented pilot tree thing assumes that Clan mechs would have single-type hardpoints by default just like IS battlemechs start with.

Haha they might be. It's been a while since I played MW2 lol. (And if they're in the LT/RT or something, it still probably wouldn't be a very viable build because IIRC the ears are also in the LT/RT.) But in terms of stuff that's considered cheesy ATM, the clans have a Mad Dog variant that's basically a gausscat right out of the box. You could probably fit 2 UAC/20 on there somehow haha.

Alt. Config. C - The Mad Dog C greatly differs from the other configurations, having replaced its entire weapon load with two massive Gauss Rifles for a powerful long-range punch. BV (1.0) = 1,707[2], BV (2.0) = 1,892
