/sighs/ Bryan, don't do this.
Now, everyone is going to want to know their % Elo ranking which will lead to the expect idiotic Elo-gaming behavior that keeping Elo HIDDEN was supposed to help avoid.
Remember this thread?? https://mwomercs.com...den-from-users/
Stop screwing yourself.
I agree so so much but the problem is there is a pavlovic response that now that i know it might be possible to know it I really really want to know it. I have no justification for this need nor any plans for what to do with such information.
The skinner box that is the internet has damned me.

The ELO should match you lower after you get crushed too many times.

Nah. Intentional or otherwise, responding to a single post with this information just made their lives far easier. Now any time someone feels as if they're getting stomped, they can automatically assume their up against better players - like that guy - and it will resolve over time (they'll also have their ego stroked considering who they're being matched with).

What would an example of Elo-gaming behavior be? Since Elo rating is adjusted based on wins and losses, doing your best to win is the best way to increase your rating, no?

I think what is happening is that the matchmaker is placing you against skilled players (who are grouped and thus not split between teams) and then filling in your team with what is left over. Due to it not being primetime, you're not getting equal skilled teammates, you're just getting what is available.
Basically good solo players will get screwed during non-primetime. I did point out this would happen in other threads. A solution to this can't be done by PGI. They are catering to the new players who will have low ELOs and fight each other. The majority (at least out of those who are the most vocal) of the forum base wanted this as well.
The solution is simply to group with other good solo players. You don't need TS, but you do need to be in a group to mitigate getting lower ELO players into your team.

And on a personal note, I don't want to see my Elo. Makes me into a stat fanatic. Win/loss and KDR are bad enough for me.

Your Light and Assault Elo scores are in the 98th percentile. AKA you are going to be matched against the best players.

Wait, it tabulates by mech type? So if I go buy a new Raven I don't have to worry about getting my face pushed in constantly, since I've barely ever played lights before now?
All I know is I was getting absolutely *stomped* while the ELO matching was in. I suspect I've gotten far too used the inherent advantages of voice coms and group play -- even a moderately-organized team doesn't have to think too hard to win most matches in the current system. When & if ELO comes back in I'm going to have to really step up my game.

Depends on how good you actually are in it. If I used a light, I'd probably still get my face kicked in for a while because I'm nowhere near an average pilot in one. The beauty of the system is that over time your score will become fairly accurate.
