I really don't get the Elo rage. Give it a few weeks to settle down, once it does everybody should theoretically have a 50% win/loss rate.

Speak for yourself! :P

2,402/887 win/loss
3,247/1,205 kills/deaths

50% in a few weeks my buttox!

How is being the filler in a pre made sammich going for you?

You mean, how does it feel to be a part of at least a 50% organized team?
Usually it's pretty good, better then when you're stuck in a match with a bunch of people who think that running around in circles is a good idea.

Just game the system like everyone else does, do your best to loose until you are in the bracket you want to be in.

So you lose a bunch of matches, making very little C-Bux/Exp in the process, and drop down to a lower bracket.
So what happens next, you start to win now that you're purposely picking on people of a lower skill level, and slowly work your way back up to the other bracket anyhow.

Sounds like a waste of time to me.

I dont mind carrying newbie pilots. I do that half the time in House Liao as a trainer. If i play with new players (or vets wanting to XP garbage mech variants) i'll bring da cheese. If i play with other vets then i'll goof around with garbage but still do much better than newbs in cheese builds. My W/L isnt as high as it used to (from 85ish to 70ish) while premade and pugging, so ELO is theoretically working

However whats annoying is when the MM is giving me subpar teammates (doing sub 75 damage) while going up against WAY more weight of metal and enemy pilots who are damn good themselves. WTF is up with that, at least give me vets in lighter mechs, not newbs in lighter mechs. Its not an enjoyable game experience when the deck is so stacked against you before a shot is fired. I found that the best counter to just put the games on conquest so the Assault Demi Lances are gonna be forced to move from the their camping position, even if my newb teammates gets slaughtered, i still have a decent chance of cap winning if i got a coupla quick mech vets on my team. It kinda sucks that i have to game the system that way in order to fight back against the "your team is 150+ tons lighter than the enemy" time and time again.

Your Light and Assault Elo scores are in the 98th percentile. AKA you are going to be matched against the best players.

The guys have a point. IF we cannot be given our Elo score, can we please get the percentage we fall into?

Anything really.

Its really nice to know where you stand when comparing with other players, and to know if you are improving or not.

Just keep it visible to the player only, so the stat haters don't have to worry about it.

I for one, would like to know my ELO comared to the people I play with all the time.

Yes you have posted your win/loss ratio PRIOR to the introduction of ELO. Which really isn't what this discussion is about...

To make my previous comments abundantly clear: In a few weeks time once ELO has settled down then in theory all FUTURE games played should be at roughly a 50/50 win/loss ratio.

If you are still winning more than you are losing then your ELO will be increasing. If you continue to win more than you lose several months from now then you are indeed a MWO god-being as you will be playing in the highest ELO bracket.

The above probably would've been more appropriate in a PM or an E-Mail to address the issue. Leave the Elo scores/percentiles inaccessible like intended/promised or make them available to everyone.

FWIW, I think Elo is doing a good job of setting up challenging matches against some good players. However, I'm also seeing a number of cases where the matchmaker puts 3-4 terribaddies mixed with 4-5 good-to-excellent players against two pre-mades or a mix of one premade and a few excellent players. I've been on both sides of this, since I rarely run PUGs. The devs might consider some tweaking to how the system puts in "fillers" for a more even experience.

I'd also be interested to see statistics on how many 8-0 and 8-1's there are now compared to before Phase 3.
