A very very sad disappointment.

Mech is awful.

It can't take out a light. It can't take out another medium that isn't another Trebuchet. So.....

What exactly is this mech useful for ? LRM support ? If so, then I'd enjoy not playing River City night 10 drops in a row.

If anyone is having any better luck with this mech, lets hear it because this went from the most exciting patch to the most disappointing faster than the speed of light.

I dunno what you're doing, but I'm killing Raven 3Ls just fine with mine, and plenty else besides.

Gotta disagree, big time.

My favorite right now is the 7K. I have been doing well with it. I Have almost all of them, and have been doing fine. My only knock is I suck using JJs in this game.

No. Still can't rely on anyone to hold a lock. My primary runs an ERPPC, a UAC/5 and 2 streaks. Does a lot better than I thought. thats the 7K. Been rtweaking the rest. Got a 114 kph 3C that has 2 streaks and 4 medium pulse. Works well. And a couple others I am tweaking.

I, for one, am strutting like a tiny splatcat in the 7M.The single tube launcher where the stock has the Narc is a funny quirk, though. Try putting an LRM 20 in it. It's good for laughs that way (and little else).

I will say the ballistic model does seem sort of silly to me.

You're doing it wrong. I get 2-3 kills per match average 4-600 damage. I make great use of jump jets when enemies try to hide. Its fun, make sure you bump armor.

I was hoping for the Treb to be far more missile-y than the Centurion, so I could run a streakboat with ECM buddies.

That didn't happen. The jump jets and speed are kind of a moot point since I'd be running with Raven ECMs. Add to that the only mech that even has THREE launchers is the expensive one (I don't even WANT the XL), I might as well start using Centurions.

Its basically a cent with jets.

I agree trebechet makes me sad... Why do we need 3 50 ton mechs? The trebs variants bring nothing new to the table at this weight

I'm actually really enjoying the treb, but I see so many people trying to play it as a brawler mech and just laughing my backside off as they run out front and melt. I've been playing as a poptarting LRM mech to a great deal of success, and on the new Alpine Peaks map, you can move to wherever you need really fast to just drop LRMs on people. You can also outrun an SRM-Stalker backwards and just eat him with LRMs, it's hilarious.

My 7M runs a 325XL, 2x SSRM2s, 1SRM6, 3MLs, 5jumpjets, and a 1.4 heat efficiency.
I occasionally own things with it, even went 1v1 vs a triple UAC Ilya earlier and came out ahead.

Next up the 3C with 2x ASRM6s, 4MLs, and a 350xl engine for the zoom-zoom.

I've got my 7M tuned with 2 medium lasers, a SSRM2 where the narc was, and upgraded the LRMs with artemis FCS. Plus I've got about 720ish LRM ammo to use in this bad boy. Also have 225 armor and the stock engine....

Any light mech that comes at me solo gets it's *** handed to it o a silver plater!! (Had it happen, they didn't last long...) Even Heavies need fear me!!

Have to disagree as well, OP. I picked up a 5J, stuck 2 LLs and 2 MLs in it, along with an SSRM rack, and an XL300, and the thing rocks. Killed many mechs, jumping around and picking folks off at high speed. I also liked the 5 ML, SRM6, XL325 version. Lots of ways to make the Trenchbucket into an awesome killing machine IMHO :)

I like it, quite a bit actually. Not as much as my Cent-9A, but I have enjoyed it. Running 3 MLAS, 2 LRM-15, 1 SRM6. Gives a good mix.

Yeah, don't read too much into pen on paper stuff. It handles at least as well as a Cent, very agile. Add JJs, it's great. Sometimes, things like torso twist and arm use are more than enough.

The Trebuchet is a fast, agile, multi-role mech. It feels like a proper Medium, it just takes some getting used to. Also Jump Jets DRAMATICALLY improve the tactical flexibility of this Mech. More so than any other. I've been working on a variety of SRM Variants in the 7M. ( Side Gripe: HOLY **** does that NARC beacon slot **** me off. Not an honest missile slot at all.) Went from 3 SRM 6s, 3 Med Las, to 2 SRM 6s, 1 Streak, 3 Med Las, to 2 SRM 6s, 2 Med Las, 1 L Las. That last build is amazing, really flexible, So fun to go from a Jump-SRM Strafe to Sprint-Sniping with the Large Laser. Very fun.
