I do however have video of the game that was 1v1 time run out and my team wins. It's uploading now and will be here when it's done:

Yes, but if incorrect kill tracking is causing matches to be won or lost when they shouldn't be, then that's an issue.

The game doesn't end when one side gets 8 kills. It ends when everyone on one team is dead, someone's base gets capped, or the time runs out. (I've ended a game with 10 kills on my team, and still lost)

Read his post again. The games he's posted should have had a different outcome due to actual kill counts, thus changing the win / loss.
I don't think this happens commonly enough that it'll really affect someone's ELO to a great degree, but it's still something that should be fixed.

Is match score related to ELO score? if not what is the match score even used for?
What they said about it was kinda vague, but it sounds like they're tweaking it to be an eventual factor in ELO/MM system. I don't think it does/means anything at all, yet.

I didn't think the amount capped mattered, I thought it went by "score" in all situations except actual captures.

That's a pretty edgy edge case, don't you think? I have seen very few matched determined by kill score...

Match score is not related to Elo ranking.
I think the highest scoring player doesn't have to sing with Drew Carey at the end of the episode? Or something like that.

I've won a game because we half capped the enemy base and things were otherwise "tied" when the time ran out. I am making an assumption that it doesn't count mechs alive but only kills by each team when comparing the scores.

I have seen the same kind of thing happen in MWO more than a few times. Just part of the game.

I think what you guys aren't getting is that it's incorrect score keeping though which CAN determine a win or a loss which DOES change your ELO. So it'd be like the game was tied but it didn't go into overtime because the announcer stated the score wrong giving one team the win.

Have seen this situation twice in about week and a half, pre patch. I can confirm it is a draw, not win.
I'm almost sure it was like you said sometime before though. I recall winning that way at least once.

I get that, and it is a concern. But how often will this happen between teams that are far enough apart in ELO to make it greatly swing a players ELO? I'd think that both of those matches were relatively evenly matched and therefore would not greatly swing ELO in either direction. Definitely something that should be brought to the dev's attention and fixed, but not really cause to freak out about (not saying you are over-reacting at all by the way).

I know it has happened at least once but you could be right that they changed it. I haven't had a timed out match in a while at least since the new end screen so maybe they changed it there. Then again maybe they changed it back with this patch. Bug report and see what they say.
