Dot Net Keeps Breaking

My internet connection is thru a verizon UML290. This is one serious part of the puzzle. The real issue though boils down to my dot net platform 4 install breaking. Here is the routine. First have a clean WIn 7 install. Then add Dot Net 4, because MWO needs it to run. Install MWO. Update and run. All is well with the world. Shut down MWO to go get a bite and return later to find MWO will not detect my network connection. Repair my Dot Net 4 installation and tadaa!!! MWO works again.
Other symptoms I have discovered also seem to be specific loss of certain Windows connection abilities. For instance, when trying to reinstall Win 7 Ultimate, it cannot download any updates, because it does not detect the internet. Another one is when MWO does not launch, Windows cannot seem to send the error data to msft, again probably because it cannot detect the network connection.
All diagnosis of the network connection return no issues. No bugs or rootkits were ever discovered. I ended up reformating my hds and reinstalling Win7 to try and sort everything out. SiSoft Sandra does indicate that the port that the modem is using may be being used by another device. But, I have changed port and rechecked it and it seems to be the way the wireless card interfaces with my system.

The updated as of 1/20/2013. If you have not, following each step of those instructions.
As a follow up, I believe provide directions on downgrading from 4G to 3G to make things work.

Have you spoken with Verizon about it cause MWO, unless they are able to find an off reference somewhere on the web they will not able to provide any insight.
1. After initial reinstall of dot4, MWO works on its first session and no issues with passive connections (web browsing, etc)
2. After logging off of MWO and back in, no connection but still no issues with other passive connections...
3. Unknown if unplugging USB connection resolves anything.
4. Check ALL firewall settings, giving MWO full access (this includes the modem/router/gateway UML290), since a firewall setting may be reading some of the MWO as an attack and has blocked that port.
5. Check with Verizon on any remedies?

Try simple commands like:
ipconfig /renew <---renews the lease on your network card
netsh interface ip delete arpcache <---deletes abd repopulates arpcache table
Sometimes this set of commands ran 1 at a time in cmd window solves many internet connection issues:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ip reset
netsh interface ip delete arpcache
all work well.

What is the exact error MWO gives you? Do you get "There was an error while testing your internet connection - no connection was detected? or do you get There was an error while connecting? There remote name could not be resolved. "patcher.mwomercs.com" Would you like to retry?
I get that by simply unplugging the power to my router (but not from my modem, it is a different message). I have not yet played with the router to block my computer to see if, by playing with the router's firewall settings (by turning it back on

If I disable my network card, I get the same error.
But lets say it is the installation itself.
1. Are you using the large redistribution installer or the small installer?
2. Are you right clicking on it and running it with Admin privileges?
Another reason for that is that many games uses MS IE hooks to patch, so even if you do not use IE, settings in it can cause issues.
i got this mail from the support i follow the steps he told me and at this moment the game is running and patch is complete
Please open the following ports on your router:
TCP 45461
TCP 45464
UDP 21000 to 30000
To start, open the Control Panel > Internet Options > Click on the "Delete..." button in the General Tab and tick all the options except for the first one (Preserve Favorites Website Data) and Click on Delete.
On the Internet Option window, click the "Advanced" tab and then click on the "Reset..." button, tick the Delete Personal settings and then click on Reset.
Once that is done, open your browser and make sure your version of Java is updated by downloading the installer here: http://www.java.com/en/ and proceed to its installation.
Then clear your browser's cache and make sure your default browser is not set to private mode.
Once done, please make sure to completely shut down your Firewall and Anti-virus and try again to patch the game.
If I unplug the power from my modem, I get there was an error while connecting, the remote name could not be resolved "patcher.mwomercs.com, retry?
Also, all three have been downloaded and installed?
Try the full redistribution packets if you initially tried the smaller initial setups.
First, we'll make sure that all your software is up to date. In addition of verifying your drivers and framework 4.0, click the following links to make sure some other vital updates are made on your computer:
** 1) .NET: http://www.microsoft...?id=22
** 2) C++: http://www.microsoft...ls.aspx?id=5555
** 3) DirectX: http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35
For clarification, it is 3.5 that is needed for MWO, afaik. As for the above, make sure you have also run all of the MS updates, rebooting as needed.
After the above. Power Options, set to Full/Best performance. Other settings can cause USB to be put to sleep, and like other items, waking up does not always work.

I am running the Process Monitor program now. I don't know if I will be able to attach the output files here or not. I'm going to try and get a picture of MWO when it is working and then a picture of when it is not. I'll get back on this soon. Thx for the info.

Pantech's UML290 3G/4G/LTE USB modem has difficulty with the "hand-off" between the Verizon Wireless 3G network and 4G networks. Users are finding that their modem works fine when locked to either 3G or 4G mode in a particular location, but when the modem is set to "auto" (i.e., when the modem is set to automatically connect to the fastest network available - 4G or 3G - this is the default setting on the modem), it has trouble making the switch between networks. This can result in difficulty making or maintaining connections in areas of marginal signal strength, modem "lock-ups" when the 4G service is temporarily interrupted, or other undesirable device behavior. Verizon has acknowledged that this is a problem and is working on a fix.

Remember, unplugging and plugging the modem back in resolves the issue. Doing that, for a time being corrects the connectivity/port/etc for MWO.
With that said, I would suggest locking in the 3G first, then after a period of testing locking in the 4G. In the end, you may find that the 3G is more stable/more consistent, and you have to also consider your location and what else is going on in the area.
