Sorry about the delays, I just started a new job which I'm still getting into the swing of. and this next section is proving to be a really huge hassle to get written the way I want it done.
Keep your eyes open, next update is coming, just not as fast as I want it to.

Check in post is up! Good to be writing again. All mechs on the right side are in pretty awful shape by my count. Hope the tanks are routed quickly.
Don't think I could write James or his mech taking or dodging too much more damage and realistically get away with it. He's exhausted and injured, and the Raven will probably start falling to pieces if a strong wind blows through.

Post up. Saturday was no good for writing, but better late than never I suppose. Let me know if there's any super editing I have to do.

Spokes? Dal10?
I know you're around Spokes, cause you've liked several of the new posts.

Sorry, still here-- I usually take a glance at the boards at least once a day, even if I don't log in.

I started reading back through the thread a bit ago looking for some inspiration and got sidetracked. It looks like Li is hull down behind some wrecked helicopters, trading fire with the loyalist lines? Let me read through Thom's post and see if I can get the mind turning.

Were we looking to stretch this scene, or wrap it up? Never mind, looks like a wrap up to me! Forward, to glory and cupcakes! :D

I will try to have something up this evening. Failing that, I should have something up by the end of tomorrow (Friday). Sorry for the delay-- it's been two and half months since I've written one of these, and I'm having a hard time finding my words.

Spokes, first things first. That was beautiful. I always enjoy reading your work, especially when it's Li. You almost make me want to go out and pick up a Scorpion mini.

I was under the impression that we were wrapping this one up, so during the course of my writing I found myself typing out an semi-epic charge. (20th Maine's was better.)

I didn't go into detail on the tanks condition, but I did mention that the Po's armor was banged up. I think it's safe to say that at least one of those arty rounds struck true. As for their ammo, I think it's safe to say that they have to be running low judging by the amount of bang banging going on when we first showed up on the scene. The only exception I can think of is the Rommel. Let's face it, nobody ever wants to get within the range of that monster cannon. But, even then it's not like it carries a ridiculous amount of ammo.

I think forcing submission is very possible here. They have no mechs, their PBI is surrendering or running for their lives, and they are slowly being surrounded.

I think the question here is now how fanatic does Janitor want to make these guys?

They aren't fanatics, they're fighting for the side they think is right. Undoubtedly you'd encounter a handful of crazies who'd do anything, but most of the loyalist soldiers are just people fighting for the lesser of two evils, *to quote Obi-wan Kenobi* in their point of view.

Considering how bad things are going, more than a few loyalists are likely throwing their arms down and surrendering.

I'll leave it up to you.

Gonna PM Dal10 and see if he's dropping out or what.

Gonna give Dal10 some more time to respond, but I'll be making the next post appear later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Agreed Thom, awesome stuff Spokes.

If it helps Janitor, I had in mind that the remaining friendly tanks would push up the right flank over the trench lines in a sweeping advance. James would be spotting for artillery with his TAG on the remaining static defenses, softening them for the tanks. Tanks to move forward flush with the gauss turret and then wheel left in front of the destroyed Arch and in behind the hostile dug in tanks.
James would then sit comfortably out of AC20 range with the TAG and bring spotty rain on the Rommel. Not enough to crack the egg, but they'd certainly be rattled.
If that's not enough to force a route or surrender, combined with Bone's and Spokes' charge, I don't know what is.

I apologize about the delay, fighting some hardcore writers block, getting this next post to formulate the way I want it to has proven a massive challenge.

My graphics card dying yesterday didn't help any.

Wanted to just post, state that I am alive and that I haven't forgotten about this, just working slower then I'd like.

No worries, Janitor.

PS: The thread's locked now, so I can't reply there, but that's a very nice Grasshopper repaint!

Thanks, was bored and decided to do something for the contest at the last minute.

So, good news. I found some music that kicked my writers block in the balls. I got the next post cranked out.
Just ironing some of the final details out, then I'll get it posted.

Vat de dwvist!

So, the battle is completely over? Do we have a rally point to meet up and dismount? Doing so in the middle of the mall seems like a sure fire way to get shot :D

If you'd like, perhaps save yourself another in character post as Vega and just let us know what to quote him saying? We'll write it into our response posts

Battle is mop up at this point, the Rebels didn't have enough time to totally acclimate to Cedric being on their side, but he was their Archduke for a grand total of less than three minutes before the Loyalists killed him, so the staunch Rebels are out for blood.

What exactly would you need him responding to?

I'm gonna edit the city overview map with the location of the Mechbay we'll be assigned and it'll be in the next post.

Ok, cool! Will wait for your post then. Might as well as responding to what just happened would be a paragraph of "Weel doon lads!" and "Ach! tha' look'd like et hurt!"
