Cool, thank's as always. So organized arse-spanking coming in group queue, check! :) Challenge accepted. :)

Oh, not that it's a huge deal but will the MM also try and put us in the same lance, or does the weight balancing take over from there and we'll just end up in the same group-PUG (I am assuming we'll always at least drop on the same (blue)team)

as a 2 man group it depends on the sizes of the other groups, if your team has e.g. a 4 player group and two 3 player groups then you will likely be split up to fill in the gaps for the 3 player groups,
matchmaker (usualy) tries to put a group all in the same lance, prioritizing the larger groups but I have in the past had 3-8 player groups split between all 3 lances.

you can take command and move your friend into your lance but that comes with the risk of irritating someone else by e.g. splitting up their group, I only do that if we clearly have people from a few units (look at the tag) and doing so does not look to be splitting them up, changing lance will not change starting position but makes the other persion easy to find due to the green HUD marker.
if you do move someone and you are asked to put things back I strongly advise you do so to avoid annoying your teammates.

I'm not sure about the Gauss here, as the description (Mechlab and Smurfy) says:
"...AC (except LBX) and PPC..." for speed and range increase, but not Gauss.

Gauss Speed, and range are actually buffed by the Targeting Computer.

Only LBXs don't benefit from a TC, and maybe MGs, as far as ballistics go.

I've seen in some threads that there have been hitbox adjustments - is there a list anywhere of what's been done? Should I read the patch notes?
Also, at what point is the cost for used consumables deducted? I don't see any -40,000s anywhere on the earnings list in games that I pop a UAV (generally in my last seconds before getting focus fired into oblivion but that's a different point altogether)

Usually they give some details in the patch notes (i.e. Locust CT decreased by roughly %5...) but this patch they didn't provide the details. Russ gave a few responses like "smaller head" via Twitter.

When you equip the consumable you pay for it. After your match, I assume while the Loading spinner is twirling you pay for it again for all the Mechs that used their consumables where you've turned on "Auto refill" for that slot (4 Mechs in CW means you could buy 8 consumables after each CW match).

Short answer, you don't ever see it. You can look at your earnings and subtract how much you remember using to know how much you actually earned.

I believe I have asked this before, but on our profile page, we each are able to see what 'Mechs we own, but why is it that whenever we view someone else's profile, we are unable to see the 'Mechs that other people own?

I understand that it could be because of security reasons, to keep others from knowing what 'Mechs other people own, but personally, I would find it interesting to visit someone else's profile just to check out what 'Mechs they own. None of the 'Mechs actually say what skill level/basic, elite/master they are are, nor what weapons systems systems you have equipped on them, so I do not understand why we cannot check out the 'Mechs other people own when visiting their profiles.

I mean, I have a Quickdraw-4G (Yuriko), a Hunchback-4J (Harumi), a Raven-3L (Kanae), a Vindicator-1AA (Misaki), Wolverine - 7K (Lucrezia) and Centurion 9 -AL (Relena) and none can but I know what 'mechs of those are Mastered or just Elite tiered, so I was wondering if if it would be a good idea (if anyone can second or third) my thoughts to have player 'Mechs owned shown when you go to view some other players' profile.

Is there any reason for that? Because to me at least, I would not mind visiting some friends' profiles to chedck out what 'mechs they own, so I can follow up in a PM with them about how good the 'Mechs they own work well for them or are just just plain bad.

Of course, it would also be good if some players who do not comfortable in showing their owned 'Mechs in their profiles to have the option to hide them from view, but when you are able to view player statistics on how players do in drops in the games (solo or CW Events) are available to anyone wanting to see, I just do not understand why profile 'Mechs are hidden by every other player when you view their profiles.

Is there are a reason for that, or could it be something that could possibly be introduced, as I believe it could help other players learning more about specific 'Mechs they are thinking of buying but unsure of if they should buy them or not.

Cheers for any reply and thank you kindly for taking the time to read this.

That is true, which is why I never use the refil on things such as artillery, air strikes or UAVs unless I know I am going to be playing a CW Event, otherwise, I do not bother re-buying such things for simple Solo drops, when it is just a waste or perfectly good C-Bills.

I do not know, and this is not something I had ever thought about until now,
perhaps have an opt in (not out, I believe offering anything resembling personal information should always be off by default) to allow friends/everyone different levels of your profile

If you want to see that information added then suggest it, the ways to do so are:
make a post in the feature suggestions forum,
keep an eye out for the next town hall thread and suggest it there,
send an email with the suggestion to Tina, MWOs community manager at feedback@piranhagames.com
send a tweet suggesting it to Russ Bullock

Cheers, Rogue Jedi, I might do just that, as soon as I find a bit of free time to do so... ah bugger it, I might as well now, while it is fresh in my mind.
I might actually do all four, as you suggested, instead of just posting in the suggestions and features section, so that it gets a lot more exposure and possibly something that can come of it.

Thanks for your help as always mate.

Oh, quick follow up from an earlier question regarding not seeing my Loyalty/Specialty mechs in my Profile stats page....

... I submitted a polite query to support.. and *poof!* later that week ALL my mechs an stats where there. :)

So, guessing it was perhaps something just with my account, don't know but the nice folks fixed me up.

Should be under the store tabs. I believe they use to have a tab for bundles... (It's been a while since I looked. I rarely buy mechs for MC...)

Edit: In game store tab...

Sorry

I can see it in the gift store but not in the bundles. The description clearly states 4,000MC
Assault 'Mech Performance Pack

This pack features 2 popular Assault 'Mechs each with 30% C-Bill boost and custom load outs built for performance.[/color]

Inner Sphere: King Crab KGC-000B [S]
Clan: Dire Wolf DWF-W [S]

The Assault 'Mech Performance Pack also contains:

• 2 'Mech Bays
• Phranken pattern and colors applied and unlocked
• 30 days Premium Time (activates upon next log in)
• 4000 MC
• 6.5 million C-Bills

it says the Assult performance pack contains 4,000 MC, as in buy the performance pack in the gift store and you also get 4,000 MC and the other stuff, no-where does it suggest they are available for MC.
edit:
sorry but based on the article as quoted, asking why you cannot purchase it for 4,000 MC is the same as asking why you cannot purchase it for 2 Mech Bays, 6.5 million cbills, 30 days of premium time or the Phranken colours and pattern unlock

For those players who own the CRB Crab (the Medium-class 'Mech, not the Assault-class), I was planning on buying three (3) of them (all to keep) to Master them all up, since they are my favourite 'Mech from the days of MW 2: Mercenaries, so I was wondering, for those who own them so far, what (C-Bill) Crabs are the best to fight with with and the best armour and weapons to load them up with?

I already have enough 'Mechs with missile capabilities and the CRB Crab (being primarily a laser 'Mech), I was wondering which energy (laser) weapons work best when in a battle? And if the are better off as medium-range support 'Mechs or,, as history has taught me, are they best to use as scouts, since they are perhaps one of the fastest Medium-class 'Mechs produced in the IS?

Thanks kindly any and all who take the time to read and answer this for me. :-)

Oh and one more thing - anyone who actually owns one of the CRB Crabs, do they handle better in solo drops or CW Events?

Have no clues about crabs but I would ask sth different meanwhile:

All these cockpit item deco stuff.... Can I sell it somehow? Would prefer some MC or CB instead...

Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, you cannot sell cockpit items.

there is only one Crab with Jumpjets, so if you want Jumpjets take the CRB-27SL, only the CRB-27B has 4 arm mounted hardpoints (2 energy in each), the others have just 2 (1 in each arm), between the CRB-20 and CRB-27 the 20 has no upgrades and only 1 AMS hardpoint, the CRB-27 has 2 AMS hardpoints and comes with Fero,
the 27B and 27SL both come with DHS and fero

depending on the variant I use LPL backed by ML, just MPL with a standard engine, or MPL with SL and a much larger engine.

I find they work great as short to mid range fire support or, if you use a standard engine, as a brawler
