Why? Kintaro is 5 tons heavier and considered a better missile boat.

It doesn't take a psychic to know there will be some mech chassis are DOA or will go extinct as soon as another mech shows up.

Though Trebuchets got a hitbox fix, I am honestly waiting for the graphical overhaul before I field my Trebs.
....Is it sad that I own all of them but only ever fielded one?

2 big
2 many poor hitboxes
2 little hardpoints
2 lacking in uniqueness
2 Big of CT
The arms are great, they can absorb all sorts of damage, but it just so happens that all of your weapons are located there. All other variants can bring just as many if not more hardpoints and a ballistic or two.
With the introduction of the Saber pack the Treb will further disappear.
The 7K is the best out of the bunch but only because it makes a much better YLW, but even then it you still take all the damage in the arms and the ct leaving your torso's nearly untouched.

Sadly yes.
The 7K is the only salvageable variant, arguably more impressive than the notorious Centurion (well, prior to its hitbox change). The torso twist radius is above the YLW, and that's before you realize it still keeps it's arm radius.
Although the Shadow Hawk is better overall (JJs, and better hardpoint placement), the torso twist and large arms (which makes it terrible for the other variants) makes for better shields than the Centurion.

Yes. Its as tall as an Awesome with half the armor. And its hardpoints are mediocre at best.

the good treb pilots have long mastered them and has moved on to playing something new (like the shawk).
trebs are very good. i hated how it looked, after my guild mates told me it was good and fun, i got into it... so much so that i mastered all variants for it.

Taller, actually. It's just a head shorter than the Atlas. Unless you mean as tall as the shoulders of the Awesome (as opposed to the head?)

Thats the same with any mech ....
The Treb is pretty poor compared so many others in its weight range.
I played them as a kiting JJ LRM boat but LRMs just did not satisfy and it was not fat or manouverable enough to do that.
There are going to be many mech losers the more chassis come out without other ways to differentiate chassis.
All mechs need some bonuses that enhance thier intended role so they can excel in that role IMO but can easily do others if needed. If the Treb had some sort of LRM bonus it might be the premier medium missile mech and at least that would be something ...

It's a great mech that excels at what it's supposed to excel at. UNFORTUNATELY mediums are currently pretty undesirable due to their vulnerability to prolific AC20 and LRM use and SRMs have become lack-luster in performance.
The Phoenix Hawk is pretty much just a better choice because it fits some extra armour, the ACs are shoulder mounted and they can all jump.
Not to say they don't have advantages over other mechs but currently those advantages don't fit the "meta". If the meta drifts the right way you'll see them all over the place again.

Now the Shadowhawk has jump jets.
And the blackjack is more maneuverable.
Hit boxes were terrible.
Don't get me wrong, I mastered 3 of them. I liked them. But fast mediums are just so easy to kill compared to lights.
And medium jump snipers are at a big disadvantage. Because you tend to end up in sniper duels with highlanders.
You just can't win that unless you are a TON better. I at least have not ever been able to make medium snipers work. My trebs that try always get CT killed.
MY shadowhawks have the decency to lose their arms first :-).
And still have weapons!
So I don't know: Medium options (what do you want to do?)
Don't care if you can jump? Cent.
Fast and maneuverable? Blackjack or shadowhawk with 360XL.
Really fast? Take a jenner.
Manueverable with good fire power? Shadowhawk.
Manueverable and very survivable? Shadowhaawk.
It would help a lot if SRMs didn't suck.
I do not play ANY mechs with SRMs now, and only a couple with SSRMs.
Everytime I build a treb, it feels terrible, even if it has 4 Mls and 2 SRM6s.
4SP at least has 5!
