PGI tried to out-Beyonce Beyonce. Did not happen, and where's my freaking Mad Dog? I'd have paid for a Mad Dog, but nooo...

At least we can rest knowing that when the packages roll out, there won't be a ga-ba-kajillion Timber Wolves every-freaking-where (unless $210 somehow becomes a reasonable amount to spend on an in-game item), though I guess we might have a Daishi problem at that price point. Also, making the Daishi a lower-tier package is an interesting choice - I guess the Masakari is just that much more popular? (PS, forgive my willy-nilly mixture of IS and Clan terms - I use the name I like best).

I've run premium time since starting this game. Seemed to me that since I enjoy the game I should send money to those who have created it. Sadly it appears PGI has decided to Cash Grab. I have no confidence anymore. To ask such prices so quickly means only one thing to me. They've given up. They can't get CW to work, they can't find a way to fit clans and sphere into the game. They know their goose is cooked. Since the 3d renderings of mechs would be the first part of product creation, they are branding there mechs up as clans and they will launch them using the same hardpoints/weapons as inner sphere. It's a cash grab. Cut development costs and get what you can. make anything available that will make money. Set the launch half a year out to get every sale you can. Then drop a hot **** in the middle of summer and cash out. The game will run as long as real money keeps flowing, but development will be over. Seems MWO has run its course and is setting up for the endgame.

They want too much for the packages, and $500 for a limited edition mech? This makes me wonder if the game is in danger of going under. No, I don't know anything about them having any financial problems nor have I heard any rumors, just my opinion.

We can only hope that they are going to use all that money to buy the rights to the rest of the unseen mechs.

It would make sense. The community has called for it. And in a sense it would be very clanner of a person to bid 500 on the development of this game.

Oh what would we do without people like you to point out the blindingly obvious? The mind boggles.

Glad I could help you out.

If PGI really wants to be like RSI, then they need to offer each of the mechs individually as well as in a package.

I must say that I wind up spending about 30 dollars or so a month of video games. If I did that with this package between now and when they actually come out I might be in the higher teir of the low teir...But I have also payed 15 a month for WoW for a long time before.
I take this to be more of an announcement from PGI more than anything. How long was Phoenix Package up before they stopped letting you upgrade your package?

Or stopped feeding us information for that matter.

It's okay, PGI mixes the names too. They've called them by the IS names on the tags on the left, and then when you mouse over for details the real names are there.

And let me know how that defense of Rasalhague works out for you when the ghost bears come. ;]

Watch the launch video for these and you'll see just how much work PGI put into making this a new and exciting experience; seriously go watch the video and tell me that helps you sleep at night.

Hahah, these prices make me laugh. At the people who actually will buy those golden ones. Don't worry, I'm sure almost every enemy will aim to kill you first. I know I will.

-No MC bonus with packages
-cap at 90 premium time when it should go up to 180
-No forums avatar
-$240 level should have significant bonuses on top of the rest

$500 gold mechs are probably gonna have some sweet feature with them. Also they are limited in quantity and designed for a certain type of person, one who like to stand out and that reason only. Just because you don't have $500 to say "look at me, I had $500 dollars recently" doesn't mean they are stupid. PGI offers to those who want to show off. I have bought all the top packages and to be able to show off that I did played into my decision. I am not buying these as of right now because I don't know if I will play very much more but we'll see over the next few months.
-Gold Mechs should offered lifetime premium time, it would still limit to a few harcore players but give incentives for the bling investment.
Be wary of a mad cash grab and run leaving everyone with the sad memories of a game they thought they would once have. You received what you were legally obligated to receive per your purchases already, they have no other obligations. You think this would be the first game to grab and run you would be mistaken.

SUPER AMPED! MOST CLAN KIDS WON'T BE ABLE TO AFFORD THEIR TIMBY.

Someone needs to get a gold Daishi with the most obnoxious warhorn ever and just go into rounds firing flamers with it into the sky just to be a {Richard Cameron}.

Oh wait, that's probably what anyone who actually pays for that will do anyway.

It has been said before, but bears repeating.
Too F'in Expensive.

Anyone else feeling like your wallet is being fleeced while we wait, wait, and wait some more for DX11, CW, UI 2.0. Instead of trying to sell us more stuff we won't get for 6 months (who knows if the game will still be live then??) when promised game play improvements get delayed yet again.

I hope it dies.

How many Clanners does it take to change a lightbulb? None, they bid down to a candle.

The Clan way is to bid down to the minimum necessary amount :)

One thing balancing out the $500 gold 'Mechs...if you can afford one, it's going to be a great trophy and bragging right. But it will also make you the biggest darn target on the field, both out of spite for your excessive ways and for the fact that you're driving a very shiny 'Mech :D
