This is stupidly frustrating, and I'm at the point of just giving up and not playing MWO for a long time.

I wonder why they bother with lrms...
That's why destructable terrain is bad. Destroy building with lrms, then finish with ppc/gauss. Don't need anything else. Don't even need legs to move.
...unless you mean destructable trees...

You shouldn't be too grateful, as he's incorrect. You can sell it like any other mech.
He may be thinking of the Loyalty Reward mechs, the Atlas, KGC, and CN9-AH, which you cannot sell.

If you've completed the Raven bit of the challenge, go into inventory and take a look if it will allow you to sell it for me then.

The problem is not killstealing - the PUGs do that all the time in normal games too.
The problem are not LRM-boats - the PUGs take them in normal games too. After all, there isn't a week without at least two or three threads complaining that LRMs are too powerful and that enemy teams are composed of all LRMs.
The problem is the PUG passivity and cowardice in the challenge:
The score is 0:1 and PUGs are hiding and/or refusing to fight ....
The score is 0:2 and PUGs are hiding and/or refusing to fight ....
The score is 0:3 and PUGs are hiding and/or refusing to fight ....
The score is 1:4 and PUGs are hiding and/or refusing to fight ....
The score is 3:6 and PUGs are hiding and/or refusing to fight ....
The score is 4:7 and PUGs are hiding and/or refusing to fight ....
The game ends 5:12 and PUGs are going to the forum in whining that the challenge is too difficult ....
I am laughing when I see some names in this very thread because I saw them in the game
- hiding on the platform when everybody is defending the tunnel on Crimson Strait
- hiding in the corner of the Viridian Bog and hoping that "somebody" defeats the enemy team
- hiding on the hilltop on Alpine Peaks, but refusing to shoot the approaching enemy team, so they simply come and overrun them
- refusing to take the higher ground on the HPG Manifold and camping in the open - without ECM, of course. Naturally the enemy team then takes the top and hammers them with Lasers, PPCs and LRMs, while their own LRMs are useless because the enemy is protected with the roof of the HPG.
And now you are coming here and whining that the challenge is too difficult?
Yesterday I completed the challenge, in just one day:
And now I am enjoying my new RVN-3L(C) Champion Raven in its new "Virus" camouflage.

Good for you.
As for me, I didn't have a group to carry me through the event, so I was limited to solo queuing.
But even with an average of 495 damage/battle and 1.44 kills/battle, I still only managed to make 4 wins out of 16 battles today.
I qualified for a point on all 4 wins, but that is 12 battles I lost; I won just 25% of the battles I played.
I didn't use bad tactics like you described; the problem was teammates that would constantly throw away victories.
They would see my team in the lead by a couple kills, realize they didn't have a kill yet, so they would then then charge into the enemy, desperate to get a kill and die without achieving anything.

Keep a backup copy of the MWO folder.
Its far easier to just restore the copy when it corrupts than running repair and waiting for downloads.

Requiring a win means relying on factors out of our control, which causes frustration.
Not to mention the poor player behaviour as they seek to achieve their kill to secure the point.
I am so tired of these "events" I would rather not have the freebies, to not waste a weekend putting up with the poor quality matches.
I'm out until its over,
PS your "140 points to qualify for the point" was a much better system than this.
This - I agree in 100%
Saturday and Sunday are the only days of the week when I can play, and these challenges make the game unplayable normally.
