I'm not a fan of how rank dominates the discussions on LoL, No one in bronze tier knows anything to bother with reading.

In all fairness, just like a few good games doesn't mean you're a good player, a few bad games doesn't mean you're a bad player. Yesterday I had a game where someone landed a freak ac/20 round straight into my cockpit seconds before an airstrike rolled in and finished me off. I did a whopping 26 damage that game.

That has more to do with the inherent issues with arties.

Thats not always the case. But at lower ranks champs like Master Yi and Teemo are unstoppable killing machines because no one knows how to deal with them. Kind of like LRMs and light mechs in MWO. You also get ADCs who can't last hit reliably without IE and Static Shiv and everyone just pushes the lane all game long without wards (and are always surprised when the entire enemy team shows up bot). I guess the equivalent is the one Stormcrow every match who decides he is going to take the whole enemy team solo.

Basically, people who are still making rookie mistakes shouldn't be the ones deciding balance.

We can easily disprove someone is in Tier 1.

Simply tank your ranks by doing horrible in matches. (go buy a new under performing mech and go level it)

Get down to tier 5, and when you still see those "Tier 1" players in your matches you have proof.

They said a tier 5 would never see a tier 1 right? That is pretty much the only certainty we have right now about the new system.

WE CAN'T EVEN SEE TIERS, OR EVEN KNOW IF WE EVER WILL, AND PEOPLE ARE ****-TALKING ABOUT WHO IS IN WHAT TIER AND HOW THEY ARE SECRET BADS.

If someone claims they're in a high ELO bracket where meta builds are a major problem.

And someone wants to factcheck whether they're in a high ELO or whether they're just making stuff up because they have a hate agenda against meta builds and are lying to pretend to be credible.

I play a lot. I mean a lot, like 6-7 hours a day some days. I go on spurts where I have horrible games, and other times I have great games. I sit at about a 1.0 kdr and at about almost dead even 50/50 W/L record. I play against some of the forum warriors here. I'm dreadfully average. And it doesn't bother me. The good games do not make me a good player. Bad games do not make me a bad. I am what I am and so be it. Will seeing my PSR make me want to improve? What does being in the high tier have to do with meta builds being broken or out of balance or even just fine? What does being a good "twitch" player have to do with being good at critical thinking and unbiased logical discussion?

You want to use Tier rank to discredit someone the same way that same person would want to use it to make their opinion valid. IT IS ALL ABOUT EPEEN. Using the rank system to justify an opinion, OR discredit one are two apples out of the same ******* tree.

It's like I said, it's not even here, might not ever be here, and people are using the "system" to figure out ways to discredit people using the "system"!! The very idea of having a provable display of your epeen to show the whole world creates this ******** one-upmanship attitude on the forums.

IMO, it will end up being displayed. And PGI won;t care what it does to the toxicity of the forums, because they don't come here to read anything anyway so they won't care if it derails into one giant K-town after another.

Guess it's time to get a twitter account or join that Reddit thing or something. Or maybe just ignore the whole forum and hang out in the meme thread. I mean there are no less then 5 threads on the first page of GD about "what tier am I in?" and **** like this and people throwing insults and speculative horse **** at each other like it is actually justified because of some perceived competition on a discussion of game balance. A logical idea is logical, regardless if the player is a cadet or a closed beta vet. **** your tiers, all they will do is drown out a portion of the player base, including some that would have helped improve the game all because "lol tier3 peasants"

Tier 2? Welcome to your team of 8 tier 5's. Carry harder.
Tier 4? Well that pair of tier 1 tryhards will prolly mop up 4-5 of the enemy and cripple some others for you, try to keep up.

Looking at who is on your team, does NOTHING, unless you are a tier 5, in which case there are certain names you will never see, (or the other way around if it matters)

I get people want to see their own rankings. What I hate is when people want to shove it in other people's faces and use it to justify discrediting others or elevating their own opinions and ideas. (last part not directed at you RW) Man, this whole thing has me razzled, and it isn't even here yet! I better just start ignoring these threads for my own sanity. Leave the epeen measuring club to their own demented pass times.
