Has anyone tried running MWO using Dimmdrive or some other ramdrive application lately? Does something like that help with the random stutters and freezes, for example before dusk/dawn lighting changes?

I use a ramdrive for nvidia's shader cache and mwo's shader cache :
ImDisk toolkit : https://sourceforge....imdisk-toolkit/

Imdisk is a well known open source ramdrive (https://www.ltr-data...de.html/#ImDisk)

But I don't see much improvement as i have an SSD.
The biggest improvement was after changing shader and preload settings in a user.cfg.

Thank you for the tips!

Based on your input, I will not bother will ramdrives, but look into tweaking the cfg file instead. I found the a thread that explains quite a few things about it. If you have some suggestions of your own on what to change for reduced stuttering, I’m all ears.

MrVaad also has detailed guides on how to improve MWO performance with usercfg files.

Yep. Use MrVaad's scripts it clears up almost all the stutter and improves the graphics by getting rid of the annoying terrain and object flashing and pop in.
