I almost forgot. Who are the RTG? Below is a quote by one of the unit's founding fathers.

"The Royal Terra Guard Recruiting"
Sat Apr-06-02 02:57 AM

Some time ago a concept started in the minds of a very small group. In November 2001 these concepts began to find their way to paper and slowly the concepts began to take on a shape. On January 30, 2002, the concept and vision was breathed life into.

"The goal of the Royal Terra Guard is to have a mature unit of dedicated members committed to using team tactics, as well as redefining the general point of view of the MechWarrior community. In return, the unit will stand for friendship and respect among its members and respect towards the community outside RTG.

"Success will be defined as the unity among the members, a pleasing atmosphere for everyone and the ability to fight and win as a team." -- RTG Field Manual, Mission Statement
Terry "Calvert" Moore

This was true then and will be true moving forward.

The unit disbanded a few years ago due to the stagnation of the Mechwarrior gaming community. Our roster depth will dictate how active we are as a unit. The more players we have the more combat we can schedule. Win or lose it’s all about having fun, taking contracts where we can find them, and taking advantage of the new guy who falls asleep in the Rec Room.

If you would like to join the unit please post here. We have no official intake process yet. And, of course, all former RTG unit members are welcome.

Hail brothers!

Getting back behind the controls would be good, I hope I have some time free when this is released, because sadly I don't have any at the moment!

I'll be watching the rise of the RTG, even if I'm not actively part of it.

Opening his mancave, Archangel walks the hall of Heraldrys from teams come and gone. Stopping in front of a Sigil worn long ago a faint smile arises on his lips. Duty. Honor. Recklessness, and comradery. All captured in a single black and gold shield. A shield which stood against the enemies of the Inner Sphere as a stalwart Bulkhead when all those around it fell. Chipped and worn the Armor plate it adorns is from a favored mech that few can recall. The "Safety Cone of Death". Feared in battle with it's fellow mechs it was a sight to see when it came rumbling into battle.

Now the call has arisen for the protection of the Inner Sphere not from the outside, but within. Old comrades has risen from hiding and stand ready to defend Humanity from itself. Grabbing his old uniform and helm from the display case, Archangel turns and returns once more..

Actually Cru, I was wondering what it would take to build a new RTG Site. Is that something you can look into for us? Also, do you still have a copy of our logo? I was also thinking about updating the logo. I know a guy who may be able to help us out with that. I was thinking of something higher resolution with more detail. And then, if the game will allow it, a lower res copy that can be imported into the game. What are your thoughts?

Fang and AA, good to see you guys again. I'll go looking for that **** monkey. Lord only knows what he's been up to. :)

I have saved what I for RTG graphics in a photo bucket folder. You can find it here: http://s205.photobuc...20Unit%20Logos/

And my personal favorite:

I almost pooled up reading those comments. It is great to see the names of the RTG warriors again. Let us hope MWO will bring us much death and destruction together. :)

PLease add me to your Friends list and anything I can do to help revive the crew, just PM me. RacerX I will see what I have but got really lucky to find that Sig. The CD it was on was buried very deep.

I wear it well though don't you think? :D

yeah man. It's is awesome to see an offical RTG Sig after all these years. I see that someone named Killian checked out your profile. I sent him a PM asking him if he is our Killian. I also extended an invitation to rejoin the unit. I figure if we get enough interest we can plan a MW4 unit reunion to shake the rust off of our mechs. It would be an inter-unit action since the only folks who play online anymore are one shot kill, third person perspective, jump sniping, game spoilers. I haven't engaged in a match since sometime last winter. I just gave up.

However, since the devs say that they are trying to keep the sim feel of MW alive then the old game should be enough to warm us up and re-aquant the members of the unit. What do you guys think?

If MWO is gonna be a sim like I think it will be, then much will change in terms of how the old school matches will play out. I think we will truely be a force to be reckoned with though. Inner Sphere tech was our weapon of choice and I do believe we can make it happen Cap'n!

I agree that things will be different. Hopefully for the better. We were always strong tactical players. However, squad tactics and working as a team to achieve a common goal is what we will need to practice. That, at it's essense, is the goal I have in mind for MW4. I can't wait to see the information warfare package they have planned and the grided maps. Finally, a system that is up to speed with the tactics we tried to develop. A usefull scout mech? It's about time. :)

It would seem that Urban Warfare is going to be the main theater of combat. Make for good shot blocking and flanking opportunities. I am going to run the Sig through my graphics programs and if I can erase the designation then I can provide a blank template for anyone who remembers their designation and wants to put it on the blank.

Any variations would just be a bonus as variety in color and or font per designation might be cool anyways.

Killian eh! I will check my profile as well.

The MW4 idea sounds very doable. I haven't piloted for quite some time. Been in Europe fighting the ****'s with a Company of Heroe's :)

I wonder if my Joystick even works? lol Got stuff to do by the sounds of it. :D

OK, I stripped out the name and here is the result. If there are any Artists at least it could be used as a Template. :)

I use dropbox but I think a DNLD can be done.

Hanyit Greyhame reporting for duty sir!

While I may be new, those principles by which you are founded upon are that which should always be included.

Welcome aboard Hanyit. Send me a PM with you current email and a short write up about youself, your gaming history, familiarity with Battletech, and your expectations from the team. This is not a test. I just need a few sentences to help me understand the newest members of the team.

I am hoping to have a team drop with MW4 from mektek.net after Thanksgiving. We can have more formal intros while blowing each other up then. We do use teamspeak as our communications platform. However we do not have a host for it yet. That's ok though since we are still re-organizing.

Everyone: please send me your current email addresses so that I can coordinate team communications.

Hails Hanyit! @Maxx, if its Urban warfare oriented, then we should do well, Our tactics were well suited for CQB, I don't remember the timeline including the clans, so thier 'mechs and weapons will be much less a factor though I don't think I'll get to drive my 'bushy again either which blows coolant!

noises, gunfire and cursing could be heard coming from the "rec room" as it was dubbed by the RTG warrioirs. "Fang" could be seen sitting on the couch in front of the Gaming console Xbox30060 and shaking his head. "who the "F" taught this monkey to play Modern Warfare 3000 anyway?" "**** monkey beat me 5 times in a row!"

@Fang1 The same people involved with making the cybernetic monkey, obviously! Silly monkeys don't know when to lose! And "F" obviously was the one who taught this monkey....

As MaddMaxx puts his Neuro Helmet back on its old hook, he can only smile at seeing the "Rec Room" once again coming alive with laughter and warrior banter.

Ahhh, the stories to be told and how glorious new ones yet to be forged are sure to be.

Reaching the fridge, he opens it, hopeful, and is not disappointed. A Cold beverage just never tastes as good as when it is drunk in the "Rec Room"

With an insightful muse, Maxx sits down, and checks out the game screen and thinks to himself "This is gonna be a blast. Someone should pinch me!"

I like the sound of the mission statement. I am a Mechwarrior from days gone by (original Battletech boardgame and every last computer game that was made!). I just love the systems and mechs and want to do a bit more stomping in the name of Terra! Look forward to meeting you all online.
