Why Is Stock Mechs Only Missing From Gameplay Modes?

A table top game based around random dice rolls does not lend itself to a game that allows precision aiming with half a dozen of the same weapon that cripples a single armor location in an instant. The fact they are even thinking about table top in terms of design is simply stupid. There is simply no way to truly turn tabletop rules into realtime combat rules.
As a long time mechwarrior and battletech player and fan. This game is currently not the mechwarrior game we are looking for. This is just as sloppy as the last several mechwarrior games in terms of online. Which sadly, this is the only mode this game offers, and should be superior to every previous release of mechwarrior.
Yes, sure say its an open beta. Say whatever you want. It doesnt matter, they are currently willing to take our money, which means the game is officially launched, regardless of the title they want to give it.
There is some promise, but they have serious design issues to work out. I think Piranha really needs to look at some core designs and realize they made a few mistakes, and change them.
All that said, i think a stock only game mode would be worth playing until the other issues are worked out, and would be the only reason i would decide to stay. Provide real mechwarriors a game of their enjoyment, and those looking for the equivalent to mech assault their game.
Agree or not. Thats the great thing about opinions, this is simply mine, and might not represent others. I won't spend a dime on this game til some major flaws are fixed.

I've long thought it a good idea to limit mech customization to a 1 or 2 hardpoint variance from stock. That'd be goodbye to Streakapults, and LRM-boating Atlases. If a factor to this was a mech being forced to retain at least one of it's heaviest stock hardpoints, gaussapults and splatpults could still exist, but they'd be damn slow and not particularly well armored.
More variants and less of the same min/maxed builds running around would be good for the game, IMO.

Yes, limiting custom jobs is totally how you to do mechwarrior right.
That's why living legends is alive and well.

and why ecm raven's with streaks is hated by everyone? one man's poision is another mans medicine i suppose? when people are so fussed about customising that it appears in thread after thread and then polls come along you might wanna think something's up.

And in the spirit of Battletech, Some stock mechs are total garbage placing them on the shelf, leading to a still small selection of good chassis....and a race to assaults.

It's already there, duh.
Mechwarrior is all about making giant robots. No one cares about battletech.

Show me a stock mech that would still suck after swapping out 2 hardpoints, upgrading to DHS, and possibly endosteel and an XL engine.
