So far every top 25 player I've met in the Light division is running an identical Rav-3L build. As much as I love the commando, it's looking pretty obvious that it's simply an inferior chassis. :P

Events, achievements, and sales are great ways to keep the community involved and to more people online. This should be fun but I don't want to pilot a raven again :P. Also don't really like the prizes so keeping on with my spider then.

I'm sorry, but are you ********? PGI has already admitted that there are multiple hacks and exploits out for the game already. Armor hacks and aimbots are already out there. Hell, the goons were flooding the NGNG podcast chat room a week or so ago with links and info on how to use them!

Please show me where PGI has admitted the hacks and cheats? And if you mean the links to the aimbot on the Inet... yeah that is obviously a scam to get your money and to install a bot on your PC.

About cheese builds. Even noobs can have some succes with them. But you need a skilled pilot in a cheese build to top the ranks in the tournament. Or the MWO equivalent of Justin Allard in a non cheese build :-P

Adapt. My Jenner is running with 6Small Pulse lasers. They are great to leg ravens ;-)

And with my Hunch I legged 2 Ravens with 2ML, 2MPL and 2 SRM4.

But Lights are often very fast. Even without ECM they can be a pain in the *** and are fully capable to kill mediums without help.

LOL!! Love to but you'll have to widen the top score range to say oh the bottom 10000 or so for me to have a shot!

I hit 34th-26th consistently earlier with a Jenner. If I wasn't saddled with so much crappy teams I dare say I could have been an actual contender, but after the 3rd match in a row with me getting 6 kills and them failing to kill two heavily damaged mechs I had to face desk out of this tournament. It would just be me grinding to stay in that position until Sunday, not a very happy prospect let me tell you.

Hah, your hilarious. I actually took the time to create well rounded min/maxed builds that work in a variety of competitive play styles. Not just "run as fast as I can at the enemy and pew pew until one of us explodes."

I, as well as a vast majority of players, are a part of this community to be competitive team based players. Unfortunately, PGI doesn't care about their most loyal and oldest fan base, all they care about is your money.

You are one of those ask mommy for the credit card to by more MC type players aren't you?

Ah yes, one of those everyone else knows as 'bait'

Eh, I went from 1300 to 129 in just under an hour on the overall board. There is a pretty easy way to move up as long as you work as a team, get some wins (and a few losses), and most of all, diversify.

It's here for the fun of it, and it helps PGI stress test various backend items. The folks throwing a fit about PGI trying to 'pull one over on us' simply amaze me. How dare PGI attempt to test their product and also offer us a competition at the same time?! The nerve!

Thanks for this, I like the idea for a stress test even if it is a really poor ruleset. Points for wins and number of games just creates a situation to encourage speed capping, and not actually going into combat. Fine for Alpine because that map is awful with only 16 mechs anyways, but any other map is just boring now

I don't really care, but it seems to me they balanced the scoring way wrong. If you can have a crappy match record and still be at the top of the charts, something is wrong. In a team game, putting personal numbers over winning should never be encouraged. Just glancing at the Med boards and the #7 as I write this actually has a losing record, and several near the top barely make it over 1:1.

Sure, I like personal numbers, and I wouldn't expect to top the charts, myself. But I would have liked to see a ranking based on helping teams win, rather than who's the most selfish.

I think the number of games is just to keep it from being someone who stops after one huge game. If you look at the boards, it doesn't look like they're just awarding for who plays more. I'm not all that far down, and my game count isn't very high.

Setting a minimum number of games removes a good majority of that, or weighing scores more for a minimum number of dead mechs per match (say, 4 total dead mechs in the match overall) just to keep speed capping down.

So, when they said reasonable number of matches, does that mean there's an actual cap or is it a total grind basically?

Would've been great to compete in this. Just finished a round with 6 kills and 1250 dam with the imba ddc. But I really dont have the time to play hundreds of matches. :P

Oh bleh, this is not very enjoyable. Team based or not, this is too much of a grind fest. Better to let players try to make the one best game, and let them play as much as they'd like during a time to get it. This is who can play the most games in three days.

Although I appreciate it PGI, make sure to do more games like this, perhaps more logical ones.
