Simple. While JJ are active, screen shakes similar to being hit with a low-medium impulse weapon. Leaves people less time to aim and shoot in midair without making it completely impossible.

I agree with this notion, jet assisted liftoff of 70 tons is not what I would consider a stable firing platform.
Secondly one of the biggest community complaints in other Mech Warrior games was the exploiting of jump sniping.

This sounds like it should already be in the game.

No complaints here from my Catapult or Trebuchet.

I agree with this, maybe even take it a step further and instead of adding cockpit shake, which currently does not actually affect your targeting reticles, simply make the reticles themselves jitter/shake.

It's a good idea either way, it curbs poptarting, is completely logical since jumpjetting would not be very stable and doesn't interfere with more legitimate uses of JJs.

Please do. And make the shaking actually affect where the shot goes.

With current prevalence of poptarting and PPCs having near-instant travel time, we're only 3rd person away from being Mechwarrior 4 Online.

Shaky aim while jumping would keep the jump jets relevant for mobility, and prevent worry-free jump sniping becoming the dominant metagame.

I wouldn't mind this, but it would also make sence to add some (not much) reticle movement when running at top speed. I think that would add a little flavor.

I don't think this is really necessary. The jumpjets give people an advantage to running medium weight/heavy snipers over assaults. Assaults have the benefit of 6 ppc's to blast you with they don't really need jump jets. The only mech that might be a little over the top with jump sniping is the cataphract, but then again he is paying 5 tons extra weight for all the jump jets to do this.

First of all it doesn't give "medium/heavy snipers" the advantage. It gives the advantage to two variants, and obsoletes others due to its power.

Second, a jump jetting assault is already announced. The problem will only get worse from here.

Third, how many tons the mech pays for such an advantage is a moot point as long as it can actually pull it off and outperform other chassis with merely such an "investment".

Another +1 from me. Seems like a simple solution to one of the biggest complaints from previous titles.

I hope we see this before the Highlander releases, since that has both energy and ballistic hardpoints.

sounds like you cant handle a sniper why nerf something that is balanced. have you seen how fast one of those dies if you get in close with him. we have guided shells now and vertical take off jets and targeting, nothing says the targeting systems wobble about like crazy...

Yep, but I'm with Blinkin. +1 to the OP.

Cockpit shake on a par with say... an Apollo mission launch... lol (ok, not THAT much)

Jumping makes a 'Mech harder to hit, but the accuracy of weapons fitted to the jumping 'Mech is also adversely affected

Before you speak up and miss inform others you should at least take a minute to google your facts.

It would give more uses for Pulse Lasers and their increased accuracy effects.
