I thought this guy left...

LRMs are in the game....period. You want to nerf them? Bet you do. You do not want to get hit with them? Do not run out into the open where you can be targeted, use the the terrain to its best advantage. Missilie boating reqiures no skill, eh? That is the opinion of some....lol whatever. A true missile boater supports his forward element(s) as they close to engage. A true LRM SPECIALIST does not care about kills/damage, all that matters is;
From a distance....
-softening up the enemy mechs armor prior to the forward elements engagement
-placing a murderous amount suppressive fire on the enemy during the engagement
-engaging at range any enemy mechs that may be trying to flank.

A big map (somewhat big) like alpine= LR tactics and weapons BUT since we have no idea what map we are dropping into LRM boats are still kind of hit and miss performance-wise. So until we get a lobby that makes freaking sense and we know ahead of time what we are dropping into and can have the opportunity to take the a mech appropriate for that map,...take a mech that has medium to long range.

and most of all stop whining about other people and how they play the game

I laugh at people who call me a noob for using LRMs.

If I'm the noob, how come you're the smoldering pile of salvage and I'm still alive, sipping Cristal and banging *******?

LRM is not a bad weapon and good LRM players can be good at it. Here's the problem with LRMs: it's an easy entry weapon. Meaning any newbie who saw OMG SUCH DAMAGE and all he thought he'd need to do is sit behind 900 meters away and shoot anything he could lock on. It's a crutch weapon. It doesn't make you learn the intricacies of firing line, positioning, flanking or anything else. Good LRM players wouldn't bring an LRM boat since they would also use TAG. If they do brought LRMboats they are never alone and got someone else to tank or spot for them. It's fire support weapon but if you don't know who and what you're supporting you're a dead weight to the team. The worst LRM players are the ones asking for a spotter at the start of a match. As if everyone must adjust their strategy just because you're on board.

You should never bring LRMs unless you can be self sufficient (this includes bringing a partner). If your team lost the ECM war and are stuck in a brawl or skirmish, you should be able to dive in and help them instead of sitting on your butt somewhere far, only to be picked apart by Ravens and then proceeded to whine about ECM on the forums.

Sniping actually uses skill so if you got massacred by snipers, admit that they're better than you. It is not a crutch, entry-level weapon.

I like sniping, but that's probably only because I work for Kellogg's. We need the advertising.

The strongest part of a team is the guy at spawn shooting hills with his LRMs.

They really are the beating heart of MWO teams.

Greetings!

Welcome to KAETETôã

Home of the MODS

It is here that we Forge

Terrible threads into bad threads

Bad threads into good threads

And good threads into great threads.

If this thread is new to k-town it is

probably because it is terrible

worry not we are making it better already.

K-town does have 10 Commandments*

*10 for for now

We also have the Sacred Pages penned by the MODS themselves

And

The Gospel of the MODs written by Acolyte of the Word RoadBeer

Also

Enjoy the BATTLE HYMN OF THE MODS / POST LERIAN JIHAD WAR CHANT

Please review these so you too

Can post better and enjoy the blessings of the MODs

While avoiding being smote first

In the coming Digipocalyse.

Praise the MODS, Tremble before the ELDER MODS.

Also part of our family here is the

Post Lerian Jihad

“We Post better than you”

While their official home is now in Depe

Their mission of speaking truth to stupid

And civilizing not just the wilds

But all of the forums.

Enjoy your stay here in K-town
