Consoles are full of silly kids who /think/ they know how to game but in reality the only thing they can figure out is what the
onscreen instructions and prompts tell them to do. They have to be handheld like a geriatric wheelchair bound special ed patient and when faced with true deep gameplay that requires a shred of thought, they
scream, tantrum and cry, unable to perform and throw their controller across the room and break their television. Then their Mommy comes in the room and grounds them.
The end.
I'll still to my PCs. Try playing Falcon 4.0 BMS, Rise of Flight or Digital Combat Simulator on a console. Hahahahaha. It'd be hilarious.
Oh, wait, how about try playing StarCraft on one. LOL. Or Supreme Commander. Or... MechWarrior online! Or how about X3... or System Shock 1 and 2... or... The Stalker Series. Yeah. Have fun playing kid games or spoonfed cinematic borefests.
I like my PC games. Have a nice day!

don't even get me started, my theory in a nutshell goes a little something like this: the whole everythings a shooter not only desensitizes and works as incitement to join the military (while not necessarily a bad thing to have desensitized and skilled killers in ones military, I don't believe it's diplomatically correct nor economically responsible to occupy another country for long periods of time), but the GO HERE DO THIS YOU WIN template for modern games where you follow a little marker and get told what to do in a game on rails, is brainwashing players of all ages out of thinking for themselves, whether intentional or not. in fact, if you're a long time game player, and you play these kinds of games frequently, go play something from your childhood. I didn't realize what profound effect modern games had on my ability to do things for myself at least in regards to games until i popped in an old favorite that wasn't set on rails and didn't hand hold. This could explain why kids raised on shooters and other objective games like fallout 3 and skyrim and the like have a hard time getting interested in older games. just as how older men who grew up with the internet are less likely to have ED from internet ****, where as younger men who grew up with the internet are more likely to become addicts and develop ED. I draw the connection to the fact that the same pleasure center is utilized for both things. and i can only hope a documented study is done on this fact to support my theory.
games are treated like a sort of drug now, relying on the success reward mechanism to hook players on their games, and like with **** addicts, the dopamine release from "winning" eventually alters your brain chemistry to that of an addict. your willpower being lowered as a result, as well as driving you for more and more. eventually you're conditioned to care only about success, in this case following objectives as fastly as possible, concerns about story and gameplay a thing of the past.
this success reward mechanism is also abused on social forums such as reddit and facebook, where "being right" at all costs in pursuit of those upboats drives individuals to give up their own opinions in pursuit of what works for that success feeling, often being the cause of irrational circlejerks, and promotes overall sociopathic behavior as well as a large amount of peer pressure and ignorance towards opposing opinions regardless of their validity, because they are not viewed as a successful means to gain approval.
we are indeed, in a huxley universe.
but that ***** depressing, anything in excess is bad for you anyway.

The only game Xbox has that worth owning is the Halo series.
I doubt Microsoft made it, looking at the generic parts in mine from a few weeks ago. It has cheap parts, horribad cooling, terribad solder, uses an X-clamp on the heatsink, which caused the motherboard to warp. I replaced the fans with some quality PC fans and the solder in it with some higher quality solder that won't crack when the board flexes. It doesn't fail as bad, but it's still subpar.
i don't own an xbox 360, and the only two games I own for the xbox are tennis and a rainbow six game. I've played both the first and second halo on the computer, and do not see a reason to own a console when I already have a pc. except the ps3, even though i don't like sony.
the wii would also be a viable console, even though nintendo is packed full of rehashes and nothing original has come out of there in years, they seem to be the company the other two copy off of the most, and often have fun titles for playing with a group of friends in your own home, regardless of the stale nature of their current ip's
