Will The Jagermech Be The New Cat-K2?

I'll probably use it as a dakkaphract (i.e. it's stock armament of 2x AC2's, 2xAC5's and 2xML).

A lot depends on its torso twist, I think. The Catapult is unparalleled in that regard, and if the Jagermech offers less twist range, then the Catapult may alway be preferable, even if the Jagermech might have higher (but also more exposed) weapon points.
Though, giving that the Jagermech is supposed to be an anti-aircraft mech, it would make little sense for it to have a low twist range. After all, aircraft are fast and you have to track them.

I'll still take it, however.

I also wonder about 2x Ultra AC-5, 2 Large Lasers, + Machine Guns.
Anyway a boomjager will be far superior to a boomcat, but a gaussjager's disadvantages over the gausscat outweigh the advantages so much that we will see both on the field equally.

But in all seriousness, from what i can read on "sarna" it focuses mostly on Ultra cannons, ER lasers and PPC, wich is perfectly fien for snipers, so they can easely make the hardpoints fit ultra ac 5 and maby 1 AC20 / gauss.. or none.. or energy based, they have options for sure to mess around with it a bit.. unless it has to be xactly like its ben writen in the ancient texts for lore :x i have no idea lol

On the contrary I believe it won't do as good as a dual Gauss mech.. In the K2, you can sacrifice arm armor to achieve more ammo/speed, here you can't because you need to protect the arms. And sure it's easy to blow up in a Gausspult once you get side torsoed, but it's still quite difficult to achieve, while with the jager the easiness of side coring it's allo to be evaluated and I guess it will be easy.
I'll try a JM6-A when it will be available next month, it should allow all the possible builds (dual AC 20, dual GR, dual UAC5 + srms and lasers) besides multiple smaller caliber AC combinations (that doesn't interest me much) of course.

Here is a fact I one shot catapults with ease my CATA say hi, the cats cockpit is at least two times the size of any other mechs making it very easy to just blow the head clean off. As more player notice this and master it both smashcats and splatcats will be a thing of the past and only in the lowest of elo will you find them.
So if the Jagermech does not suffer from an extremely easy cockpit to hit it will dominate the field over cats. Also if you didn't notice over the weekend there were many many more STK 5Ms running aorund with 5x srm6 and different energy loadout, it may be slower but it can pack more alpha damage then a srm6 cat.

2 AC/20s with a 275-300XL -- 80KPH Boomcat is tempting
and
4 UAC/5s with a ~225-250XL -- painfully slow but that rapid fire might make it a powerful DPSer
Other than that, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that the Jaeger can do that the K2 doesn't already cover.
AC20 build will work nicely. However, I will pass on the 4 UAC5s. Trying to get those all firing without having one on cooldown, and not jamming, will be a major PITA. Probably be handled best by a macro, then it might really shine. Otherwise Ill stick with my Ilya. May also run into some speed vs engine vs, weight issues with this build.

Cos the jagermech has arms which can easily be shot off instead of a ridiculously small side torso profile.
Also looks like the jager has the same head size as an awesome.
It's as fat as an awesome.
No I'm predicting it won't come close to being K2 good.
And with the Jager comes weapon size limitations for certain slots!

It will probably be pretty good and balanced however, unlike the OP cats.
Noteably, it will be able to arm mount dual AC20s, allowing it to run a XL engine, something the K2s cannot do, and it's high arms will allow it to fire over cover, again unlike the K2.
Imagine now, a fast AC20 cat, this is what Jeagermechs will be,m squishier than k2s due to the lack of the insane hitbox profile, but much faster with the same punch due to bein able to carry a XL engine, so you can fit a higher rated one.
