King Crab and Arctic Wolf would like to have a word with you... :)

There is a reason that the Pre-Omni Arctic Wolf had a variant with a LL.

The King Crab does carry at least one Laser in all the variants I can think of.

For something like community warfare, where you may need to lead a campaign that lasts several drops, capturing Supply depots and mechbays before the end of your match should determine how much you can resupply/repair before the next drop. Would also make it more vital to bring a good diversity of weapons. But that should pretty much be the only extent of repairing/on field mechbays in this game.

Yes, somewhere to reload streaks in my Raven please.

I promise not to abuse it.

Mobile repair most certainly appears in MW4... never played Mercs? Hell, your 2nd campaign has you defend a convoy of heavy artillery between 3 navpoints, on the last navpoint you repair up and then defend the dropship while they load up.

yea, one of those things that sneaked into the universe since MICROSOFT was readable in the loading screen...

still not canon... a repair takes LOTS of time, weither on a dropship, in a hangar of a base or in a MFB... plus the MFB doesn´t provide more than provisional repair abilities... and you need full logistics provided, and techs out there... which means those things are likely used FAR AWAY from a battle...

Those things always felt ridiculous even if I needed to use them.

No, I would not drive a repair mech for the same reason that nobody flies a plane in a battlezone trying to repair the aircraft in combat.

I'm all for field repairs but with field repair times. I believe it was 15 minutes per point of armor, which would be 2 points in MWO! Weld that atlas for half the map and you can give him enough armor to withstand a grazing shot from a small laser.

Then convert all 3Ls into these repair mechs.

EDIT:

This game, despite being futuristic walking robots, does try to go for some sort of realism. Being able to repair any sort of damage in seconds - hell, even minutes - would damage the "feel" of it being a simulator and not just your everyday CoD/TF/whatever FPS.

Also, if they ever implement R&R again, how the hell is a field repair mech going to figure into that? Is he going to charge you for repairing and rearming you in the field?!

If they ever add some form of triage to the game - would you run one?

Yes, I would consider it an honour to do my bit for what ever team I go into action with. The mediMech was one of the ideas that came up as a result of a poll I ran back in December; see: http://mwomercs.com/...ir/page__st__20 and cast your vote.

The main snag that you are likely to run into with this idea is that "Its not Canon" however, I see MechWarrior as a evolving entity that could and should have room for new ideas. But what ever you do, don't mention Shields; this is the point where I draw the line myself.

Yes we do and we hated it back then too. The idea was silly, but Microsoft owned the rights. Do you know how many BAD ideas Microsoft has in a given day?

Actually we didn't all hate it; it got me out of trouble so many times that I have lost count; I dare say I wasn't the only one either. Its another facet to what is an epic saga.

Yeah me neither, it would be like tanks going onto a battlefield followed by tank recovery vehicles! And that never happens ever. Or wait....

Still though real life weaponry and such are vastly superior to the Battletech stuffs so whatever.

you can´t fix a mech with an arc welding device...not even with a giant one...

we don´t need healers... and ravens don´t need enhanced critdamage when they backstab someone "out of the shadows"...

oh, but stalkers sure need a "panic bubble" ... :D

What this game needs . . . . . . not:

1) Backstab critical damage bonus

2) Red health orbs falling to the ground when you kill another mech

3) Blue cooling orbs that fall to the ground when you distroy a component

4) A healing mech that uses blue spray to repair friendly mechs

5) 3rd person view

6) The option to transform into a car / motorcycle

7) A hide button to get into and out of cover

8) ECM in its current implementation

9) Green tube that let you change the level (switch from caustic to alpine - but beware there are mech eating plants in some of those tubes)

10) 8 bit music

Edit: What this game needs:

1) More squirrels

2) destructible terrain / trees / buildings (but not squirrels)

3) more maps (with squirrels)

Do they replace all the ammo, destroyed and damaged components, and armor in less than 15 minutes?

It got me out of trouble too but I let out a sigh every time I used it and tried to ignore that certain missions basically required using it to get through.

That vehicle doesn't replace the ammo, but potentially for the rest :D

Though if I remember correctly even in MW3 and MW4 the repair bays didn't replace lost limbs or weapons.

Not even ****ing close. It's a recovery vehicle, not a mobile pit.

In 15 minutes they would replace the "armor" on that vehicle? I call BS on that statement. That is what people want to happen in MWO in like 1 Minute.

No, it would be like going into the field after the battle was over and performing SALVAGE. You ever noticed that in your after-match C-Bill summary?

Show me the same picture during live fire, even in an exercise, and I'll give you credit but the only branch of the service that I know who does any sort of during-action repair is the Navy and they do it for two reasons. First, if they do not they sink and cannot. Second, the vessels that perform these sorts of actions have huge crews.
