If this makes you not trust the company, you should never spend a dime anywhere and keep all your money out of banks as they all do much more sinister things such as hidden fees, unexpected charges, etc.

I love how after several comments saying it was in fact on the launcher he stopped trying to claim it wasn't... and instead ignores those comments. Trust me when I say this: If they were even remotely negligent with this, the forum would have blown up with threads of "RAGE DEMAND MONEY NOW!!!". The fact that your post is alone, and that you are the only one arguing your side... should tell you something.

P.S. Did you happen to sue McDonalds in the mid 90s over some coffee by chance?

What are you talking about?

You clearly are not reading the details of the launcher content being referred to.

The launcher said "Open Beta!".

The launcher, or user interface, never spoke of the finality of MC spending and resets.

I stated once that I didn't recall if the launcher linked the Patch Notes that one person referenced to mention the Open Beta == No Reset situation; but I clearly did not click and read that patch note to know that on that day.

So as far as "blaming the launcher or not"... you oversimplify while not actually comprehending the statements.

For the love of space jesus. You still aren't seeing the real reason people dislike your post.

If you've already convinced yourself it's a scam and you're still not sure if you should give them more money, well that's ******* stupid. :D

How many games have you played where the end of Beta did not involve a reset?

None. And by how you phrased that I can tell even you as a casual gamer have gathered the common knowledge that going from closed to open beta involves a wipe.

Of those, how many obfuscated the fact to casual gamers?

None. Everybody get's emailed. Allways. This is no obfuscation.

Pretty much anyone who's even replied to this in it's very short lifespan is, by definiton, not a casual gamer. :D

That my friend depends heavily on who is currently defining the term "casual player". By some definitions the mere fact you're playing a non-browser game on a PC instead of a Wii or Smartphone makes you a non-casual player aswell.

Also what type of casual gamer buys himself into closed betas?

irrelevant. "all of those other games" arent this one. You were warned for months, and there were posts on the forums about it for months.

YOU messed up and YOU need to deal with that, not blame everyone else and their mother like some spoiled little child.

I was warned for months before I bought the game to be warned?

You people are sooooo lost in your own assumptions and disconnected from the facts.. it's funny how you make such statements thinking they are so finite just because you typed them.

I was not warned for months as I was not warnable for months; nor were the references to said warnings obvious or made available int he span of time I could have assimilated them. As stated, the only pertinent NEW warning was since my purchase was made on October 26th; with the "last reset" in question being on October 29. On November 2nd, I played the game w/o reading the website or potential email (My archives don't show it. They'd show it even if deleted. Never came to me.)

Facts just get in the way of people opinions.

There was a giant banner with Open Beta (click for details). The fact that they had it posted in a minimum of 3 very visible locations including an email directly to you means that you were the negligent party, not them.

Also I really don't think you're reading half of what you're responding to, as half of your post made no sense and was surely not directed at my post you were quoting. You're also putting things in quotes as if I said them, when I said nothing of the sort.....

What I can't seem to wrap my head around is how someone (the OP) who so clearly seems to possess a decent level of intelligence can't seem to grasp the only point that needs to be made here:

If PGI hadn't notified the MWO population properly, this would have been an issue months ago when open beta went live. As it stands, the OP is refusing to accept the notion that he made an error in judgement. An error which could have been avoided had he simply READ the PATCH NOTES. But he didn't and he is upset now.

PGI notified everyone. I have multiple emails telling me of updates and changes. Patch notes are ALWAYS online and up to date.

The OP could have dropped in a match and asked via chat before spending MC, but he didn't.

The OP could have read patch notes, but didn't.

The OP could have saved or read emails, but didn't

The OP could have done numerous other things to find out, but didn't.

Instead, the OP logged into a beta game months later, didn't bother to update himself on anything and is now spamming the forums with PGI hate because his ignorance and sheer laziness got the better of him.

What is it with people always wanting to apply some nefarious undertone to what is always simply general incompetence.

That's kind of the point; the instructions weren't readable without digging through 50 million forums post. News entries? Ever seen the news feed for this place? Each useful news entry is drowned out by 50 of these "ISN whatever" in-character postings.

Yes.. Their News Feed is the place to get instructions from them; as my initial post even stated... that's bugged..

Also:
http://mwomercs.com/...date-august-7th

AUGUST 7th they posted, well in advance of the open beta this nugget:
  • The Founders Program "Credits" and "In Game Currency / MC" are ready for you to spend at will.
Important: You will be refunded the entire amount each time we patch the game during Closed Beta & once again when we commence the Open Beta.
Once all Founder's Members are in the Open Beta, your premium account bonuses will be treated as "live" and any MC used will be permanently spent.

I know why they dislike it. Just like they don't agree with my opinion and find it a point of humor, I find their opinion on that topic to be disagreeable and a point of humor.

Just curious. What did you spend the 2000 MC on and why do you want the 2k back?

Damn those Illuminati ********, they're getting into everything nowadays.

Just tell support that you didn't get the email about the resets and thus didn't know about it. I'm sure they'll fix it. Not anyone's fault if the mail didn't work, it happens sometimes.

Splatterbug,
Notice how pretty much EVERYONE is disagreeing with you?

Fact is PGI made it pretty clear that open beta was the end of any resets.
It's unfortunate that you obviously missed the memo but to throw a fit over it and try to argue with so many people really just makes you seem foolish.

Chalk this up as a lesson learned and let it go.
