following on from this thread:
http://mwomercs.com/...27#entry1952427 i posted on Sunday and after talking with friends irl I've pretty much decided to pack it in early.
I know I know, drama llama etc. but I do have good reasons for this.
I had been praying for a mechwarrior mmo for more then 10 years now....
....As is, its far too similar to league of legends in both marketing strategy and development. Chasing and grinding numbers that are completely irrelevant to your life. I'll keep my account active, I have a lot of stuff on there and ive got about 15 days of premium time left Ill use. Still feel like I've been kicked in the gut

No, you're wrong.
Catering to the dogs, as you say, is not short changing the community. What it is, is catering to a wide variety of players. The game cannot exist in a vacume, it cannot pander only to the elite. Well, it can, but won't be very successful only providing to a very small niche of players. What you need to understand, is that everyone is different, everyone has different playstyles, everyone has different skill levels, and in different types of games. Having something for everyone is not a bad thing, Piranha seems to get this. There's nothing about this patch that disenfranchises anyone, and just thinking it might doesn't make it so.
I'm on the same page with you that the game is somewhat pointless, the game doesn't look very fleshed out at all at the moment. As such, I can't really classify it as a 'video game', just a program with video game mechanics. I'm still looking forward to the Community Warfare patch, that's starting to sound more like what you and I are after.
