Yeah... forgot about that little guy.
I really like that they have a sale every weekend now. I just have to remember to not spend anything until I know what the latest sale will be. (Converted a bunch of XP less than a day before the Double-XP sale... doh!)

"I have money to burn, you should too, and I bought some stuff so quit being mad."
Well, why have sales for people without money to burn? Sales are done to push someone over the edge. They've been considering buying something, but now that it's on sale, how can they not?
There is a significant demographic on MWO of people with more money than time, and this sale appeals nicely to them. Besides, comments aren't what they'll care about when evaluating whether to do a sale again, but *gasp* sales figures, so expressing your dislike is going to fall on deaf ears. They already did one of these sales before, so I imagine it must have been at least marginally successful.

There will never be a cbill sale.
Personally, I've discovered that I would rather spend 5-15 bucks here and there on the game than grind 100+ games for a mech. in any case. In the end, a mech costs the equivalent of less than half an hour of real work's pay.
I only play about 20-30 games a week, and don't want to grind, I just want to enjoy the games I play and a little variety for a few bucks is fine.

Because the reason for the grind is that people DO spend real money. If they gave away everything for free, then the players would be happy, but they'd go out of business.
With a grind, people that do have the time can spend their time grinding and get most content for the game for free. People that have the money, but not the time, can get all the content, and don't have to grind.
Grinding isn't meant to be fun, it's an alternative that is meant to encourage spendign real money on the game at least occasionally.

The Catapult and the Jenner are great variants.
New players that get the 'cadet' bonus can use those CBills to buy their 1st mech, this sale to buy the the 2nd or 3rd.
It gets a bit tedious playing just 1 mech, so this sale allows folks to get 2 or 3 in their stable and still have some MC and CBills left for mods...
If you dont like the sale, dont buy anything from it, that is simple, but why gripe about it? Cash keeps the game running. No one forces you to buy MC. There is nothing in this sale for me, but they have had other sales where there were things I wanted and I bought.

I have to resist ...
Thinking about my last days ... I always had the "luck" to have done things a liiiiiittle bit too early ... realizing that waiting just one more day would have been much better ...
Ok ... if you add a MC sale ... then I'm in !
Otherwise ... I have to resist buying any MC right now ...

Unless this is the only thing you spend real world money on, don't buy one of these for MC. Save yourself the time and money, get on a Teamspeak server and play with whatever you've got. Ask questions and learn the game from some of these robot geniuses. I learn something new every day on the TS servers.
Lame sale, PGI. I wish you thought more highly of your beta-testers. This is mere pandering.

if you have gone out there on the net and tried many other varients of free mmo's out there then you will find MWO is probably one of the cheapest out there.
for example some well known car race game that everyone knows 'NEED FXX SXXXD WXXXX'
it roughly costs about US$20 to all the way up to $80-$100 for one nice car that you would realy want to drive.
now how much does a Atlas or that brand spanking Awsome (because Awsome sounds AWSOME!!) or a 4SP (it ran rings around you till you had nothing left)? or better yet a Cataphract CTF-4X cost (because you got your *** whipped from it) OR a K2 that you got cored even before you realized what happened (twin Gausscat)?
well it costs less then a decent Hamberger over here in Australia.
so stop whinging and support the company who make the game that you love playing.
or do you all want to wait another decade before we see any BT universe games???
well my 5 cents.
I realy dont know why you ppl keep whinging about prices of mechs in MWO.

Three cheers for another MWO sale!
Only the softest golf claps could be heard...
Will they learn how to do a proper sale?

instead of flat out say get a trial mech for 50% off then in small letter use the MC Only clause
they should pitch their sale as to why you would want them mechs as not many people will be buying them cause either they already own them or dont want to pay MC for them cause they want the mc for some other goodies
on a second note got to say MWO you will get more moneys if you partner with playspan they are just as big in the game world as Paypal but difference is they sell gamecards that will eliminate creditcards from some users and it is a global company
i dont want to get a paypal account just to go through thier hasstle of approving a pre-paid credit card when i can get a ultimate game card with playspan input the cards code boom points are there and then transfer the proper points to any game on the network that accepts playspan. makes it mutch easier

Sorry if this was answered already, i didnt see it in the previous comments. This sale being on trial mechs does that mean i cant buy one of them and customize it with a different loadout and heat sinks etc.
If so then please advise which one you would recommend, I am thinking of the catapult, but mya use my MC on a hero or other mech ( I already own ye-lo-wang and pretty baby) thanks and hope to fight you soon :-)

>I would like a good sale, please? Not an attempt at a cash grab on mechs that we can already get with C-bills..
>
>To be more constructive: Give me hero mech sales, MC sales, premium time sales, paint and camo sales, mech bay sales, or >even homigosh, a free mech bay with purchase of hero variant.

>EDIT: Maybe if posts like these get enough likes PGI might consider them.
Especially the mech bay included with every purchase.
I find it ridiculous you have to pay even more for an additional mech bay if you don’t have an extra one available for your new mech purchase. That’s just ******* greedy...

Yes. After getting all basic unlocks on my CPLT-C1(F), I bought my next Catapult (I think it was the A1) with MC (got a lot from my founder deal anyway), simply because I didn't want to wait until I had all the Cbills for the Mech AND the upgrades.
However, in retrospect, I would not do that again. I should have continued to play just with the C1(F) while I still had premium time to get the maximum amount of cbills. But if there should ever be a sale on a Mech that I want to get, I would certainly pay MC for it so that I can use my CBills on some shiny modules
