Then why take anything you say as being more than just boring trollbaiting rants?

Not going to bother reading the rest of this thread.

Bubba, I know you're perturbed by my thread, I am certain though that no one is forcing you to be here.

So...Circle Strafing is the MWO variant of Circle Jerking or circular argumentation?

How many times have you told us that MWO is doomed now Norris, cause I've lost count...and you ain't been right yet.

I'm guessing you once worked for one of those tabloids, doing the yearly forecasts about disasters and all that right?

I'm seriously hoping that they have been working on Clan mechs the whole time and that's why the IS mechs have been delayed. Otherwise there could be some real problems coming.

They need to stop with the new mechs, Holo house symbols, new camo, chinese lanterns and all that crap until they have the core functionality working properly. Community Warfare, and the Clans.

Look how long getting half decent stats has taken. In theory we will get some of that today, but that is pretty much a trivial change.

Geez. This thread almost crashed the boards as bad as the one with Russ and Garth announcing Founder Program back in CB... and about as fast!

Thanks Norris, for sticking around to defend your theory.

To everyone else, Norris is allowed his opinion. While I disagree a little with it, you put some time and effort in the research, which is TONS more then most of the trolls around here are willing to do...

Personally, I think that Maps are the content we need, not mechs. However, with the SLOOOOOWWWWW rate of map release, I kinda agree that we may see some player reduction, simply because we are tired of dropping river city night 5 times in a row!

Yea. With my calculations I counted about 4 maps per enviroment and then about 10 enviroments and 5-6 different atmospheric conditions landing us at about 240 map combinations and that would be bloody awesome. 40 maps are the big hurdle but once weather and gravity options are added 4 maps can become 30-40 maps depending on combo.

A few of them on the old CB forums, I'm sure there's a few around these current forums as well, it's not exactly the first time you've made these pronouncements from on high about the doom coming for MWO due to PGI being so inept and the game being so blah. I even agree with a few of your opinions on some of the subjects you mention...

That said, the points you make ARE nothing but opinion based on nothing but supposition.

We've had no lack of content to date, each month has seen more added to the game, objects such as Mechs, equipment for the Mechs and modules, along with bug fixes, balance changes and more optimizations. I know, I know, fixing silly things like damage not registering properly or getting the netcode up to par isn't ADDING new content, but guess what..it's making the game better in a far deeper and long lasting way.

There has been a pretty constant upgrading of the game in the last few months with no backsliding like we had in CB and early CB, or have you missed that? My FPS have gone from being 60s in CB to 40s shortly after OB started to back to the 60s and higher in the past month without any lowering any of my settings(all max except AA, which is disabled..another game breaks with it, so I just disable it totally), I reset my graphics settings with each patch just to make sure of that.

Lagshield is mostly nonexistant anymore and with the HRS coming in tomorrow's patch, it'll be even better. Lots of work has gone into refactoring the totally awful netcode CryTek comes with into something far better, damn good work on it so far too.

Yeah..PGI is futzing around, not adding things to the game, not fixing it so it works properly...it's doomed, you are SO right!

Wake up Norris, that was just an acorn.

Nothing of what you said has anything to do with my post.

Literally nothing.

Also, I am not saying that to be mean, but in what way does anything that you just said relate to a 4 month gap in content that could happen later this year?

I don't know why but it cracks me up whenever I see a grownup(I have the impression that the majority of the MWO fans are in their 30-40s, but I could be wrong) whining on the internet over something trivial like some spoiled little kids.
I've read through the OP, most of the arguments seem valid and the "predictions" are not impossible to happen, but the only message I can get from the post is "OH NOSSSS, PGI missed the deadline therefore the game is DOOOOOOOOMED!"(Of course, my English ain't exactly good, so I could be missing something)

The monthly updates only highlight the problem.

Bryan was supposed to post this Month's on Saturday, check his twitter, he then changed that date to today.

It's the things that cause you to realize just how bad they are at sticking with a schedule.

Like, really dude? You are gonna ***** just because the update was posted earlier today rather than last Friday!? Seriously, WHO GIVES A DAMN!? Just go outside for a few month and come back later if you feel like it, otherwise just shut up and play the game.

One thing that the OP could and is probably wrong about is the Community Warfare being tied to the Clan Invasion. Its not dependant upon that and probably would be better to start it without the Clans.

Right now we have 6 factions, which will split the player base by 6 sections. Adding four clans (Wolf, Jade Falcon, Ghost Bear, and Smoke Jaguar) will split it by 10 ways, Doesn't do any good to test CW with that much of a split. CW won't involve every planet in the Inner Sphere. The Devs have stated that in their QnA's. It will take place on border worlds only.

So it will be easy to add in clans. Take a chunk out of the Lyran Commonwealth, Draconis Combine and Free Rasulhague Republic and there is more borders to fight on. The only issue at hand is how to get the Cappellan Confederation, Federated Suns, and Free Worlds League a chance to get a crack at the clans.

You postulate that we'll see NOTHING for 4 months because they must drop at least 4 Mechs for the Clans into the game at once and there's no possible way for them to do anything BUT create those 4 Mechs in those 4 months.

So far there's literally no evidence to support that and literally gigabytes of evidence to refute it.

I never said it was.

I merely pointed out that due to PGI's projected plans that they should roughly coincide.

Really? So when was the last time they released two Mechs a month? And when was the last time they hired anyone? What is the size of their teams? How long does it take them to make a Mech? I have the answers to all of those questions.

This is it in a nutshell, we need maps and game modes more than anything else (other than a optimizations and fixes). I don't think anything else will save this game better than a heavy focus on maps and game modes. Everyone is just bored and needs more.
