But regardless, one thing is certain: there will never been a 4 month drought of new content. That's commercial suicide, and if you can deduce that, you can be certain PGI understands that as well.

And yet other games have had content droughts and paid dearly for them, despite it being 'obvious' and easily avoidable.

What Norris failed to factor into his prediction is my arrival on the scene. My fighting prowess will save this game from his foreseen doom!

Indeed we do know the time table, but you came to one conclusion haven't you? There are other conclusions you can come to, each valid without further evidence until we see if we get some clan mech announcements this month or not. We shall see, wont we.

Yeah I remember having this conversation last year with someone about the January Community Warfare release date.

MW:O has not had content drought? Not sure if serious. We went how long with no new maps? Wonder how many people got sick of that and left already, some did I'm sure, but I'm not going to bother asking PGI that info. Waste of everyone's time, that. So wonder I will, but the fact is we've already SEEN PGI pull a content draught, therefore another one, bigger or otherwise is not out of the question here.

No.

His conclusion is that PGI will release the Mechs this month with nothing to support it.

I am merely pointing out that based on the past history of what has happened, what Bryan has told us about the size of the company, the time it takes to make a Mech, and the actual content stream we have that it is literally impossible for them to have created four Mechs and the brand new systems to support them.

Unless of course PGI's just been lying this entire time.

all i hear in this long winded post is a bunch of crying because clan mechs aren't here NOW. the game is still in beta, they can do whatever the **** they like.

there is no MARCH DEADLINE, full invasion doesn't happen until august, only a couple small forces attacked in march.
quit parroting information you've read somewhere else and not in the books.

that picture of the whiteboard is over a year old, processes change, resources(people) get moved around to reprioritize things like netcode still being fixed. they stated not long ago they will be going to a 2 mech a month format once the game goes gold.

BOTTOM LINE: the game is fine, it's these stupid sensationalist thread titles trying to get people worked up that needs to die.
they have enough money right now they don't have anything to worry about, this isn't some halfbaked mmo, they stated they had over 100,000 people play the weekend of the tourney.

Derp much? Lrn2Read.

You completely missed my point.

By adding the Clan Mechs, this will create (at minimum) a four month content drought up to their release.

This is the problem.

Where do you get this weird idea that there will be a content drought? Is preparing ahead to get a buffer such an unknow concept for you? Oh my...

Wow wait what. TIME OUT. TIME THE **** OUT. Did you just try to sneak in a "no one is leaving the game" comment there? Norris said people have left as far back as August / September last year. I can pull a half dozen names out of a mental hat of people who've stopped playing, and I would have to do so 5 times before I needed to repeat names. And that's just people *I* know of. Now magnify that by whatever number you want and the FACT becomes clear, as Norris stated in his Op and which you obviously missed or ignored:

People ARE leaving. They HAVE been for some time now.

There are always people leaving games. I stopped playing every game I bought in the last 25 years ;-) A lot of them are still doing very well :-P

Doesn't really matter, I just hate how you all act like you KNOW the end result when you do not. I do not either. I am willing to see what happens this month, CLAN INVASION MONTH. If nothing, I will be disappointed. If they announce a bunch of clan stuff, I will be happy.
I prefer it that way then be perma-pissed off like some of you seem to be.

Slow down a second there champ. If they don't have time to make them during the next four months and would need to have buffered them, how would they find time to make the other mechs we've seen during the time that they were making the ones they're buffering. Ehhhhhhhhhh.

I can only assume from such responses that people have serious reading comprehension issues.

Lyrik, way to not realize I was serious. When I say people have left I mean LEFT. Period. None of this sissy *** RAGE QUIT and then sign again a day or less later.

I said what I meant, and you know what I meant or should have, so drop the White Knight crap already.

He thinks the mechs will be RELEASED this month? That is a little ambitious.. I would expect just the announcements of the last assault and 4 clans.

And then what? Will you demand more from PGI or will you continue to ask for patience and faith? And what point will you be concerned?

Ciller I respect you and all, but Packard's giving us and by extension - perhaps - PGI a WARNING. All his post was, was "if PGI does this, then MW:O will probably die".

No I will just be disappointed. There are many other games out there if I get bored of this one. I don't presume to demand anything from PGI nor do I have endless faith and patience. I am a realist, pragmatic, and as logical as possible.

I think we're all missing an opportunity to join forces and gang up on the moran who thinks it's 3049 and called us all names as a result.

I am sure that IF PGI does nothing for 4 months people will leave, yes. This seems to be an obvious argument to make though.
