Disagree: One week to concept and model a new chassis and its variants, one week to create visual assets and implement them in the game, one week to internal QA and fix issues, one week to test at scale for balance issues and such.
One month for a mech chassis is appropriate so it's not a mess when it launches. That doesn't speak of laziness, that speaks of care and quality control.
I haven't seen any glaring bugs on the mechs they've launched so far, have you?
That said, if they have more than one person in each of those roles, they could totally be running multiple mech chassis projects simultaneously.
But considering the size of their team, getting both a new chassis with multiple variants and a new hero mech each month, that's quite good. And I'd imagine the folks tasked with mech creation roles are also tasked with other things at the same time.

Upon release players will have access to Coolant Flush, Air Strikes, and Artillery Strikes. These new items will be available for C-Bill and MC purchase.
This is the only part I currently worry about, because I don't know how they will affect the gameplay, but I'm excited!
Coolant Flush may require a PPC rebalance because I fear the double alpha Stalker then!

On March 5th Host State Rewind (HSR) goes live. This new system allows players with high latency pings to fire and hit more reliably using Lasers, Machine Guns, and Flamers. Often referred to as the lag shield effect, HSR will significantly improve the reliability and accuracy of weapon hit detection, making certain BattleMechs much easier to hit. We anticipate overall damage will increase, resulting in some possible upcoming weapon balancing changes if needed.
Much welcomed change! Though I anticipate a bunch of Jenner/Commando Ect. pilots crying foul now that they can reliably be hit.

As for the P2W, I don't know how anyone could glean that from the consumable write-up. There's nothing to indicate that the items won't be available by cbills, so some of you are just being overly dramatic.

Then again they put in target warning. A big verbal warning to screw over scouts and any one who worked hard for an ambush.

That is how I am hoping they work. Probably the best way they could work is by doing something like that.

Very bad idea.
Also purchasable with CBIlls, so who cares if they are MC purchasable too? Whoop-de-malfing-doo. Oh wait, the sky is falling the sky is falling NOOOOOOOOOO!
Honestly I am waiting to see how they actually work before I jump to stupid conclusions.
Pretty excited to see how this all works out.

So...just...don't...target...someone...before you ambush them? Derp. Not targeted = no warning. Target them after you've ambushed. The only real thing that stops is spotting for LRMS.

You're the one that's confused on the whole P2W thing. Merely being available for normal currency as well doesn't guarantee that something isn't P2W.
Example: Coolant flush is one time use period. You have to rebuy it to use next match. It costs 200k CB or x amount of MC. A player without MC therefore cannot use coolant flush every game forever. A player buying tons of MC can. P2W.
Example 2: A Raven 3L costs 500 trillion CB, or 3k MC. P2W.

I'm just spit ******* here but I would think the coolant flush consumable would run you about 10,000 - 15,000 credits, activation consumes one unit, and only useable once per match. Most players will probably buy them by the dozens and slap them in their "consumable" slot and use them as needed. If it's obvious your team is getting rolled then don't bother burning your consumable that match and save it, no sense in throwing away 15,000 credits if you're not going to recoup it through a win or a larger xp/credit payout.
This will also probably be just the first of many consumable releases and PGI will have periodic "sale" events where you can pick up consumables at 25 - 75% off original price.
Regardless of your stance on consumables, they're a standard part of the F2P environment. They're not designed to be P2W but they will increase the grind for everyone, it'll just hit the F2P players harder than those with premium or spare MC.

I'm not confused about it at all. I'm suggesting that some people are stating as fact that it will be P2W. I'm stating that you don't know that and there's nothing in the notes which would indicate it. If using the consumable costs you a significant, though maintainable single-use cbill cost every match, it's not P2W. Yes, you might have to make a decision about whether you're paying to maintain your consumable versus buying a new mech, but that's irrelevant to the debate.
TL:DR - See how things are implemented before you jump to conclusions, regardless of whether you're a glass half-full or glass half-empty sort of person.

So, because they are used in other games it is a good idea to use them in MWO and everyone opposed to them should just shut up? Not really about this topic, but more of a general question: why should we let us be tied down by genre standards? Mech games are not the genre standard either.
Personally, I reject the whole idea of modules. Whoever wants to buff his or her mech in some regard should pay a price for it. And I don't mean GXP, CBs or MCs, I mean stuff like heat, risk, weight and slots.

You want to play for free? Fine, but they kind of need to earn some money or there won't be a freaking game you can play anymore. Accept it or don't but please stop crying about P2W all the time ... I can't hear it anymore if this argument comes every time when something new comes out
Edit: Oh and by the way, you can buy everything with ingame currency so please ...
