Community Events
After a hugely successful Be A Hero Challenge weekend, we've decided to add more events to our March schedule. Expect to see a variety of different challenges inspired by the community's feedback! Also coming in March, Design a Trial Mech challenge. Players will be able to design a Heavy Trial Mech build based off one of the existing heavy Mech chassis. The winning loadout, will be made available for uses as a Trial Mech throughout the month of April.

I think I will be submitting one of my favorite rides, my 4x Large Laser K2. Another possibility is theory-crafting some Jagermech builds..

I bet there will be some restrictions to keep them a little in line with the other Trial Mechs.

Like a maximum total of 10 Heatsinks and all ammunition must be located in the side torsos (no CASE allowed either).
Also it must create enough heat on an Alpha to cook off all the ammunition immedeatly...

Because having Trial mechs that make sense would be ridiculous.

god i hated the trial mechs so hard and if i wadnt been a fan of BattleTech before, i pobably wouldnt have earned enough cbills to buy my first mech.

A Jagermech build is not a bad Idea. I will probably be submitting a Phract build.

I remember my first and second trial mech grind in the CB and start of the OB. That was.....so beyond awful.

I hope it does win. Then all the complaining will almost force devs to balance SRM stacking sooner.

The winning mech should be something featuring at least 2 different weapon systems, a standard (stock) engine, near-max armor, and possibly uses single heat sinks effectively, as that represents the pinnacle of what a non-upgraded mech should be. Cheese builds and niche builds should not be the trial mech.

Personally I would prefer a mech with all the bells and whistles as the winning trial mech (endo, DHS, XL if warranted) but that uses at least 2 kinds of weaponry (such as lasers and ballistics) but this would be an even more drastic departure from existing trial mechs.

I'm sure there will be limits... so I doubt the splatcat would be considered.

But hey, it's not like you have to grind 500+ matches to win :D
