Lrm Clickfest Again...

If my 45kph Stalker can take on a missile boat at 700m without taking much more than a scratch, then LRMs are fine. The way it works is I emerge from cover, blast them twice with my Lasers, then take cover again to break the lock on the LRMs that are incoming. They hit a spot I was before. I then emerge to blast two more times and repeat till they are either dead, disarmed, or out of ammo.
If this can be done at 45kph, then anyone can do it.

Duck and cover!, stay away from the open areas, let them deplete their ammo etc..
And when you get close with LRM boats they are much easier to kill because they have less short range firepower.
And when the other team has 6 LRM boats, that is great, just wait, dig in and try to flank them a little bit,
For every tactic there is a counter..
Yeah, the counter is hide behind a mountain the whole freaking match. That is not fun. Did you not read the post or did you just ignore it so you could copy paste a response?

Do you carry all short range weapons? That'll leave you with nothing to return fire. The LRM mech has done a good job to suppress you. Where was your team at the time?

Well, I guess you can spend the whole match hiding if you really feel like it, but personally I'd rather flank or return fire.

You realize that this comment makes you seem incredibly lazy, right?
Sometimes you have to actually work at things to succeed.
Also, the other people who've responded to you made great comments as well. Let them all sink in for awhile before you respond again.

even if you do; you just use the terrain and flank him that way. The only map that really doesnt work is on forest colony in the lake. But what the hell were you doing out in the open to start with?
I run an atlas with 4 ML, 2 SRM6 and an AC 20. All short range, I do well, 4-660 damage usually, even against LRM carriers. How is it I can do it and you cant?

because you HAVE to learn. They want run and shoot. CoD style play. No learning, just grinding and pew pew.

Well a Gauss driver will have maybe 40 rounds to fire. If your lucky he will spend most of those on the "others" who don't cower while some do. Then when you emerge they will have run out of ammo and you may roam free, versus the other 7 (5 fresh) enemy Mechs.
With LRMS, a Boat will have 1200 rounds. How long can you cower before his friends in their SRM/Streak Boats find you? LOL

What are those "rounds" are you talking about?
Another one person clearly didn't even try to use LRMs trying to teach others.
Just for You, man, PURE LRM boat without any other supporting weapons holds 1000-2200 missiles. Depending on the weapon itself (5-10-15-20 pods) it can fire JUST 20-35 times.

Never thought i would see LRM boat effective at 1000m full damage.
You're ether delusional or just braindamaged.
If You so sure about it - show us some video.

Id also like to see this video of hitting at 1000m on an even occasional (much less than a regular) basis.
And not on the testing grounds

I once carried 3240 LRM in my A1, and 6x LRM 5, wonder how it feels to be on the receiving end

I can't verify this at all, but I thought that LRMs exploded at their max range. At least that's what some patch notes from a few months back (Patch 1.0.142) said.
So if you're getting missile'd from somebody who's extremely far away from you, try running away from them (and off to the side, running in a straight line is never a good idea). Once you're farther than 1km out, you're pretty much safe.
Again, I've never seen missiles explode at max range, as I typically don't fire them on targets at the range. So if somebody can correct me on this point I'd appreciate it.
I'd rather get the right information and be wrong, than have incorrect info and think I'm right.
That's what happens on Alpine all the time. You see sniper 900-950m, You lunches LRM fire, he just backs off a little or gets under the hill and all the missiles gone in nowere. The only result in this fire is suppress newbe snipers, all the PRO ones are pretty aware of the distances and just laugh in your face.

It's called the ERPPC.
It doesn't require ammo, is 7tons/3crits each, and does 10 damage per shot to a single location.
Sure it only does like 8-9 damage at 1000m, but it gets there faster, without warning the target, and it still deals damage past 1000m.

Its called Gauss rifle sure its 15 tons but it does 15, no spread and I think still deals full damage to 1200 (unless thats changed)

Full damage only to 660. From there it's -5% dmg every 66m.
At 1000m it would deal about 11.2 damage.
Energy weapons only go to double effective range though, instead of the triple ballistics get.

I do see LRM are needed and different type of skill involved. I just hate how they focus on a weapon system already used the most and they just forget about ballistics. We do have another mech coming out and sadly they focused on LRM and this mech is ballistic based.
I'll tell You a secret, direct fire weapons don't need a lock - just mouse over the target and clickfire it.

You don't need to wait locking the target, You don't need to hold the target waiting for your bullets to hit.
Just point and click.

It's always been 660 effective, and 1980 maximum, at least as far back as I can remember.
I guess I got into the beta after that changed.

Tell me You're not countering snipers lunching full trottle berzerkstyle straight line at them. If it's so I can tell we have problems here not only with LRM. If not - why hating LRMs for covercouter and not hating snipers?

Pretty interesting setup for A1, could have tried it myself, but with our ECM life today I try not to get out of the house without my little TAG friend.
