Lrm And Ecm As An Ultimate Solution?

And please please stop telling me that I gotta take cover, use a fast mech and whatsoever!
Cover is not always where I would like to have it and scouts get ***** by LRMs, I am well aware of tactics and different options presented by the layout of a map.
I know that LRm wouldn't be used in CW but 95% of the players join random battles.
I admit I am just getting into this game but am clearly familiar with gaming in general.
So the only way to actually avoid LRMs is EMC (which is rediculous cause I would never play in a non EMC Mech as OP as they are right now) , so I went for an EMC missle boat and am just doin fine.
I am supprised that there are not 1k threats complaining about this?

LRM's are working as intended.

That said, you don't need to carry ECM, just stick near someone else who has it. If you see MISSILE INCOMING, get in an ECM bubble to lose the lock. Or duck behind something and power down (if you're careful you can even power down in the open. you'll take a volley but they'll lose the lock.)
Why do you think LRMs won't be used when CW hits?

As before mentioned use the Terrain, if no one spots you they cant hit. If they cant keep up the lock well thats jsut wasted missles.
On a side note i am also playing arty in Wot and yes an arty can one shot a tank but out of 10 shots maybe you get one that does that (i would say more like every 30). Unless the tank stands still and in the open it wont happen very often.
Same for MWO if you stand still or move slowly thru open ground you get shredded

AMS needs to be at least twice as good as it is now, I will say that much.

I don't know about this...In some games I see large clusters of LRMs getting cut down by small groups of allies carrying AMS. It seems pretty powerful when used together. I can't imagine doubling the potential of AMS, not to mention how easy it is to use

Cover is always in the right place. It is _you_ who is in the wrong place if you cna't find cover from LRMs.
Seriously, the last thing LRMs need is a nerf. They're barely used in competitive play and are only now becoming valid in 8-mans (due to the PPC change, artemis, and light mech lagshield dissapearing).
Some people don't like getting LRMed, but really the fact is when you're getting torn apart by LRMs its almost certainly your fault. I know it's my fault when I get LRMed to death, or because the enemy cleverly relocated to deny me cover.
LRMs are a valuable gameplay addition: they help define the battlefield and teach players to be smart. They're also decent direct-fire weaponry, though nowhere near as good as gauss and PPCs (which drill a single location and are hard to dodge).
LRMs are also the weapon that is the easiest to defend against. Cover, Cover, and Cover. ECM. AMS. You have plenty of options.
Would you complain when you stand on a ridgeline and get peppered with Gauss and PPCs? Well, the same applies to standing or moving in an open field and getting pelted by LRMs (well, aside from the fact you can use ECM to deny the lock and AMS to shoot down the missile, and you're being warned when LRMs are incoming).

From my experience, AMS works fairly well.
When you hear/see the Alarm ringing for Incoming Missiles, you should immediately take evasive action. If you're good with your positioning cover won't be too far away, and AMS will pick off the few LRMs that would have reached you while you were ducking behind something.
If AMS is buffed to take out even more missiles, they should include some sort of device to deflect AC/Laser/PPC shots too. As it is right now there are three options available to everybody (almost everybody, some 'Mechs don't have AMS Slots) to help limit the effects of LRMs, and only one option to limit the effects of every other weapon in the game.
Note: My suggestion for bullet deflectors was made in jest. I think it's a horrible, horrible idea that should never be implemented. I merely said it as rhetoric while making a point.

A 1.5 ton device should NOT be able to have a huge impact on an incoming volley. That's silly.
4-5 missiles is actually pretty damn good damage reduction for one AMS. Now imagine if you're standing near 2 or 3 other mechs with AMS. Suddenly that number goes up to 15. That's half my typical volley right there (I don't boat LRMs, that's generally silly since skilled enemie swith ECM will make your mech useless... so I mix PPCs and LRMs on my C1).
The question really is NOT if AMS is effective. IT _IS_. The question is if LRMs are enough of a threat to require using it. With ECM and the skilled use of cover, I'm not sure its worth loading in the first place.
