In literally almost any Mech I'm in, as soon as the Raven-3L comes by I am dead about 5 seconds later and might land oh, one or two shots.

Throw some chicken bones on the floor and do a little dance around them before pressing fire...

Lasers and SRM6 do a good job. With the state rewind, light mechs are easier to hit with lasers now, and if you are good at leading a target, a few good SRM6 shots will either kill it, or scare it off for a bit.

If you cant beat him by your own, lead him to your Teammates.

Staying close to your Team protect you insan well against em.

Lasers and aim for the legs. Love seeing a limping raven.

Atm Lasers should do a good job as HSR (Host State Rewind) phase 1 is implemented for Lasers and you can aim at the body of the Raven and should do damage up to a ping of 450ms.
You still need to lead with guns and missiles (including PPCs bcs they act like Guns).

And for the worst Case, use LBX 10, 2 Srm6, 2 Medlasers, or something like this. As soon as the LBX hits, the Ravens start to dance away in most cases.

As a Raven 3L pilot i'd say get your own ECM mech in close and LRM the crap out him. Or a Ballistics shot to blow a leg off is the other way. Without speed a 3L is useless. Without the ECM its pretty much the same.

What ever you do dont let him circle you, and if he does hope you have a friend standing off to the side blasting him each time he comes directly toward and away from them.

Oh and one lasst tactic i have seem on a YouTube clip... 6xPPC one or two shotting them.

My K2 with 2XLPL/2xLL can kill one raven without problems. With my Hunch SP it depends on the state of the armor .And my Jenner eats them for lunch with 4xMPL.

its not the raven killing you in 5 seconds. find out what is and deal with that first.

3L with usual cheesy build 3x ML 2x SSRM2 has 25 alpha strike. While it can hunt other lights with ease, it's painfully slow to kill something heavier. And i can confirm....lasers hurt now. Also anything with 40 damage can one-shot 3L in side torso.

From the other side...i usually have something in my other mechs to deal with cheesing Ravens. However I have no idea how to deal with packs of them. 2 are enough to make any defensive means absolutely ineffective.

The best way to do it is to have powerful lasers on your arms so you can keep up with its speed. Like somebody said earlier, SRM6's are a good way to finish them off if you can hit them. Its a weak mech that's a big target and I dont usually have any problems with them. I could see somebody who uses autocannons to have problems with them because its not easy to hit a fast moving target with them.

Just my experience. I have a few friends who play pretty dedicatedly, and they've been around since the open beta started, or before. And I personally, along with my roommate, have gotten so frustrated that we went out of our way to make Lighthunter builds. Now, unlike a different one of my Lance-mates, we didn't just go for the counter Raven. We both grabbed COM-2D's (for ECM Capability), fitted them with as many Streak-2's as our builds would allow (Myself with 3, him with 2 with an additional Med Laser. I subbed the laser for a Beagle.), and when we PUG, we stick with the other ECM mechs. The basic plan works something like, find the Raven, Jam the **** out of him, streak him until you watch your sweet sweet LRM/PPC/AC-20 boat teammates take a chunk out of him. It's not always perfect, since there is only two of us. Occasionally the enemy team will be, say, a 3L and two double D's, and we just can't jam all of them without having a team that actually backs our play. But It works fairly reliably, and works for any sort of Annoying, Fast-Moving, ECM-Capable travesty running around scratching at your back armor. (offically dubbed AFMEC's [patent pending])

When I'm running my Spider, I love legging a Raven then running off. It takes me too long to burn them down completely most times (after working one leg, the other often isn't in structure yet, and they are still dangerous to small mechs), so leaving them "mostly useless" and out of range of the rest of the team is all I feel I need to do to have done "my job". Once they're legged and gimpy, I go off to support the rest of the team or get back to capping stuff. So far over the past few days I've left something like 4 ravens dragging their broken wing across the landscape. Quite rewarding :P

Since the last patch with state rewind, lasers work really well to take down Craven's. I'm seeing a lot fewer of them and the Jenner is making a comeback now since it has JJ capability.

When they circle you don't follow their circular pattern. They are better at it than you and you will lose, unless your in a light with the same speed. Instead twist 180 degrees and catch him in your front arc, coming around the other side with everything you have. One or two circles copping this treatment and he'll get the picture and either run or you'll smoke him.

Sorry for my crappy picture:

I'm not sure how damaged he was, because I didn't even target him, but I had one run up on me yesterday (getting the low signal warning clued me in) and I took him out with a single Gauss to the torso (or maybe head). I would have been in trouble if not for that lucky shot, though, since I was in my LRM boat - all I have that could engage him would have been the Gauss and a single Medium Laser.
