Yeah. I just picture a bunch of pirates a few months later pointing and saying, "SEE? We TOLD you there was something out there!"

Dev 1: hey lets give the forum users something to work on till the opening of E3.
Dev 2: sure well make some sort of puzzle or riddle for them. I bet they think its going to have something to do with E3.
Dev 3: yeah only lets make so it has nothing to do with E3, and watch them go into fan boy/girl mode speculating what it is.
Dev 4: Bet you most of the forum user think it has to do with the clans or one of the unseen.
Paul: well get to it. I need a good laugh.
You have forgotten everything the Devs have told us up to this point, and have gone off into candyland with wishful speculation. The devs want you thinking in this OMG clans, or OMG unseen unseen. Every post that has such a thing has the devs laughing. Laughing so hard that their actually crying in pity at you folks.

Wait... The images are zooming out. Image 1 has fewer squares going across than image 2. 3 is an anomaly in that assumption, but 4 has even more squares than 2, and 5 more still. Trying to piece them together wouldn't work, because they are at different levels of zoom. Like at the beginning of a movie or something where you're focused on a single object, then it zooms out, showing more and more of the big picture until it is revealed entirely. Or being so close to a collage image that you can nearly make out the smaller images, then pulling out until lines start to make sense, but not the image. That's what we're seeing here. BUT, they are also showing different parts of the image entirely, rather than zooming out from a single area. >.<

- Each whole image is made up of a collection of smaller pixulated images from what seems to be already released media
- Overlaying all of this is some sort of light-line...stuff that seems to bear some importance (yea i don't have the vocab for this sort of thing

- The smaller images, and their configurations are reused
- Additionally, ignoring the light-line stuff, the image seems to be zooming out (for example - compare the very first image and the last one and you'll notice that the smaller pixulated images are just about half the size of what they started out as)
I'm no photoshop/gimp/mspaint wizard so trying to line things up with the repeated parts of the image is a bit of a pain but at least i can resize everything so that the smaller images are all the same. Still, maybe this will give someone who's a touch more savvy in that department an idea of what to look for that I can't

Edit - A VERY rough image I messed about with to help illustrate what I meant. It's not super to scale or anything of that sort, but here it is anyways

Hey, I'm no image manipulation wizard or I'd try this, but how about actually placing these images where you have the red lines? Seeing if there's more to see once they're placed together?

Did that yesterday to no avail. For the most part the images are identical, except for minor differences. This tells me two things
1) Either the individual squares are meant to be rearranged, and there is a small number of squares that will reveal a hidden image
2) You are supposed to overlay the images, but then the minor differences are supposed to be highlighted/extracted somehow to show a larger image

Okay, fair enough. Still it's all very peculiar. And damn my time zone. I have to wait up until 1am to see what's going on!

Like it is one thing to start up the series again, another to reinvent it, and another to ADD TO IT. I hope they do the latter AT THE VERY LEAST. Like come on.
This was tried once (kinda) for the SNES. It made me wanna smack everyone who tried to play. Myself included.

I really hope someone does since my original post...well thats about all I can do (go go MsPaint!) otherwise I'd be having a ball doing mockups with the pics actually in the red sections and trying to form an image out of the multiple overlapping lightbands (at first glance I can't see that they'll actually form anything interesting but no way for me to be sure without being able to do so..). Plus it doesn't help that I have to work all day tomorrow and I'm already cutting into my sleep time as it is

Like I said earlier, there large sections that match up on each frame. However there are very subtle differences here and there. The key would be to either highlight the differences and filter out the rest, or rearrange each individual square while deleting repeat frames.
By just overlaying them you don't really get much of an image. I tried
