I can't really see it being a beta key, there are many of us who have no idea about code and would feel excluded and insulted if they did that. I think it might be the first reports of something funny in the Periphery (Clans) seeing as how they do actually arrive and attack the first worlds in August 3049, and the Devs have said that the date that it is here is the date that it is there, just in 3049. If it's not that then I would think it will be an actual reveal for the hard release date for MWO.

yes too many people on it maybe the "process" just get killed to avoid a server outage, or someone have found who start the artemis and kill him / stopped the start process
